I really do not know where to begin with Mathis Brothers Furniture Store...the have upset me so me times with my purchases I stopped counting.

Anyone who knows the Oklahoma City area is familiar with Mathis Brothers Furniture. There store is very large and serves Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Arkansas. People come from all over because they buy in large quantities and they keep there prices low and reasonable. Sounds good in theory; however as you enter the store you are swarmed by salesman/women constantly wanting a sale. People including myself continue to shop at this store due to the unbeatable prices..a person would be stupid to pay anything more for the same piece of furniture anywhere else.

Several times they would deliver furniture with missing pieces. They actually assembled a four-post bed and after it was completely assembled they said they didn't have 2 of the 4 post's and they knew that before they left. Why give me incomplete furniture?? Anyway..it took 3 weeks for replacement parts.

Two months ago I purchased a leather couch which was delivered relatively on-time but later noticed the scuff marks all over the material..it was the floor model! After several calls they said that due to my late delivery request all warehouse models were either picked-up or delivered prior to mine and so they gave me a floor model. I had to play like heck to get them to see that a floor model is not the same as a "new" model. If I wanted to exchange it for the same one it would take 3-months. If I didn't have something to sit on I probably would have been upset and bit my tongue however I needed something now. After several calls to the lady floor manager (a very rude brunette lady) and a personal visit only to be yelled at like a two-year old I finally convinced the general manager this was wrong. They eventually worked out a deal with us and now they require a managers signature and buyers signature to sell the floor model.

Oh by the way...they also have an "as is" department which is very popular. Make sure that if you find an item that you want and a "sold" tag is not on it grab the tag and tell a salesman immediatly and put money down on it as soon as possible. If you do not put money down on the item (even though a sold tag is on it) another salesman will trash your sold tag and sell it to someone else. Just happened to me last night. I thought I would make sure and ask a salesman to place a sold tag on a "as is" item because the "as is" furniture sells quickly. It was 40 minutes till closing time and I looked around the other parts of the store and during this time another person had purchased my item. Again I complained!! Oh well the brunette manager said it wasn't anybodys fault "it happens". I wanted to know what the "sold" meant on the sold tag. She just smiled and said sorry!

Anyway...Mathis Brothers is the cheapest place in the southwest with the best selection for furniture...no questions. But the store has got to big. I will try to put it in perspective. The store is the size of Super Wal-mart with two levels and the parking lot is continually full of cars and the warehouse pick-up line has cars five deep all of the time! They are big business that forgot customer service. It is time for another "big" funiture company to come to town and maybe Mathis Brothers will respect what they have!
