McCarthys heating and cooling Unsympathetic, money gouges, do not care about customers of service. Omaha, Nebraska
My husband and I wanted to install a new furnace to improve to energy efficient standard. We were recommended to McCarthys by his parents, they never had any complaints. The sales rep came and told us we needed new duct work and that could be included in the fee, fair enough.
We thought we were getting a exceptional deal, and we're quoted 4035 where some companies were quoting over $6000!!!
The day came, they did not instal new duct work, my husband asked them to call the sales rep and he replied with it wont make a different, so we did not get new duct work as promised in the quote.
Everything was fine they cleaned up after themselves, until that night when I went to give our 1year old a bath.
Freezing cold water. No hot water in our house at all.
My husband went down and reset the pilot light to the water heater and we waited a while, still no hot water.
We had to take the kids to grandma and grandpas house for a bath.
Next morning, Saturday October 6th 2012, my husband called McCarthys at 7 30 am, only to get told by a extremely unsympathetic customer service rep called Adrian that they did not touch the water heater, ( how would he know he was not here! Nor did he install it!) and we were told we would have to pay 99 dollars for diagnostic fee. Um what. It worked fine before they installed the furnace. "we are a business and we have to make money too" THAT is the reply we got for a problem they caused, because before they came we both took a shower, and we had hot water! After arguing with this rude slang using man, my husband was going to have them come over.
We talked about and decided we don't want them to come anywhere NEAR our house at all! I have ZERO faith in them, after we just shelled out 4035 bucks ( and did not get all we were promised) they wanted MORE money to screw up their wrong doings!
NEVER EVER AGAIN, and neither will the 800 plus people on social media sites!!
