Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This company has tried to starve my family and I out for the last 5 years, a normal person would've given up,but Im stubborn.Theye refused every benefit and made my lawyer and I take them to court for every benefit that Im entitled to.And when it takes 2-3 months to get a court date the bills start to stack up.Their reply a few years ago when I brought this up'is that my bills arent their problem".They've not paid benefits 9 times since my injury(two blown discs in back)the longest period being 5 months. After my lawyer won a re-training program for me,they refused to pay mileage to me,books, tuition and weekly checks.

During re-training I suffered a heart attack(Mayo Dr. said it was due mostly to stress)They cut my benefits 36hrs. after my heart attack because they said I wouldnt be able to go to school.During my time in school I graduated with a 3.43 GPA which at 40 years old, while being daycare for my twin 5 year old boys, dealing with constant financial problems due to Meadowbrook I thought wasnt to bad. They refused to pay benefits during my last spring semester because they said"I wasn't attending classes. Even after my professors took depositions and signed paperwork stating that I attended all my classes they still refused to pay me. And then amazingly they have a change of heart two days before court, and send me a check for half what they owe me so that they dont have to face the judge and we have to refile for a new court date 3 months later.(Weve went to court 7 times and won every time)

After graduation my re-training program included a job placement person to help with finding me a new job that fits my degree, and of course they refused to approve this.I then began sending resumes, cold calling etc. to find some kind of employment while the bills piled up.A friend in the mean time hooked me up with a part-time bartending position to try and keep the electricity on while I cotinued my daily job search. And then amazingly they had another change of heart and approved the job placement person when they found out that I was working as a bartender part-time. After being paid my first check I sent copies to my attorney and Meadowbrook for TPD benefit which they have 10 days to pay. And now they refuse to pay this benefit because as the e-mail that their attorney sent to mine says"we didnt pay for re-training so that I could be a bartender". I dont enjoy being a bartender but you do what you have to do to try and keep a roof over your familys head. So after promising creditors that money would be sent out to pay bills I have no money to send out. One creditor even put a freeze on my checking account because he said"he was tired of being lied to" He got a grand sum of $10.11! And now Ill have to wait 2-3 months to have my case heard before a judge. We have no LP in the tank, bills are unpaid, and Meadowbrook sits there with a smile on their face.

My attorney is one of the best in the upper midwest but there is only so much that she can do. She has only been paid Heaton fees for all the work that she has doneon my behalf, because I have no money. She has been an attorney for over 20 years and she has never seen anybody get treated as I have in this case. These people at Meadowbrook are untouchable, they're not licensed so you cant pull their license,as the Dept. of Labor and Industry(compliance)says all you can do is fine them. The judge did that the last time when they owed me 3000.00, the fine came to $14.12.Wow!! That really showed them!! So what is a person suppose to do?What do I tell the bill collectors? What do I tell my boys when its cold in the house? If anybody has any answers I'd sure appreciate it.
