All I want to do is quit this company. I sent them a letter late last summer, and followed up with an e-mail in September. Another e-mail was sent in November, another in December. Still the product comes. I had no respone to either the letter or the emails.

I finally got a letter dated 1/27, stating they the products I returned do not qualify for a refund according to Melaleuca's "Statement of Policies". They say they cannot accept returnes from people who have returned over 50% of the products purchased over a six-month period.

I forwarded my e-mail from September and the e-mail I just sent to Melaleuca to the Attorney General. I really hope this will help. I've heard that Melaleuca is slow to cancel, but COME ON!! Fortunately, I have kept all the e-mails, and will keep the letter I recently received.

When I started, I was told by the person who signed me up that he would cancel for me. (I specifically asked what would happen if I wanted to quit.) Later, he told me that I would have to do it. I had become unemployed and told him I no longer wanted the products, he had someone else call me and suggest I try to sell the product and get people under me.

It's not that I don't like their products, I really like a couple of them. I didn't find them as miraculous as I felt they were presented, and didn't appreciate that I felt the company representative was using scare tactics to promote the products, but some of them were really nice.

All I want to do is get out. Why won't they let me quit!? I did what I was supposed to do. Now I'm expected to pay for products returned when I have been trying to quit for over six months. I can't believe how difficult this process is.

Speaking of reading carefully...

I don't think you read my complaint very carefully. In my first line I stated I sent a letter. "I sent them a letter late last summer, and followed up with an e-mail in September." But I appreciate the polite response and the tip about faxing. I will fax the new letter I'm sending in the morning before I send it and the duplicates off to Melaleuca and the other places.

Read read read... it's plain as day that you may cancel at anytime by mailing no faxes accepted

If you carefully read the paperwork you signed, (not even too carefully, right near the signature line, it's plain as day) that you may cancel at anytime by mailing (no faxes accepted) a letter to Melaleuca. I've done it 4 times in the past 7 years whenever I decide I don't want to place an order ..works everyime. Great company. Anthony, NJ PS: Even though it reads "no faxes", I've always successfully cancelled via fax.
