meleulca is a scam. who wants to be 90 years old looking for p[eople to sign up and commit there self to buying stuff from this company every month are they dont give you discount scam. this only business oppurtunity is for the owner

Melaleuca is not a scam. In this case, the consumer apparently didn't understand what they were getting into. The rules of membership and ordering are quite clear. In order to get the discount of membership one must meet a monthly minimum requirement. Melaleuca wasn't designed for consumers, though it will work for consumers if you purchase enough product each month. It was designed for people to run as a business. I had a Melaleuca membership for a number of years, and never consider myself to have been "ripped off". BEFORE I took on the membership I made certain I read every piece of information, spoke to a number of sales reps. in Canada, called the Melaleuca company in the US and spoke to them too. Once I understood the routine, I signed up, bought my sales pack and went to work. The products are excellent and I had no problems selling more than the minimum amount each month, without even leaving my home. Between family and neighbours I earned enough "extra" each month to get my own products and no cost to me. That's hardly a scam. I haven't been a member for a few years now...not because I didn't like the products, and not because I didn't earn anything. Mostly because the products I sold the most (and that made up the main portions of my order) can no longer be shipped across the border to Canada, so I gave up my membership. No hassles there either. I called the company at the US number, explained the situation and they cancelled my membership. Consumer's need to stop tossing out complaints because they didn't bother to read or understand the terms. It's time consumers took responsibility for their own welfare.

Yes, it is a scam, so I disagree with the person who answered this husband's e-mail. I have a friend in this position in Colorado and she must pick up her paycheck very late at night before they rip her off! It;s so sad! She only wanted to buy a couple products not get ripped off forever and I don't think she realized the woman signed her up as a rep! She can't get it cancelled! CeltycMoon from Colorado

I am a thrilled Melaleuca customer. It clearly states you set up a back up order in the presentation to protect your perferred customer status. It also clearly states how you can get out. I know for a fact if you truly want to get out all you have to do is write to Melaleuca by the 25th of the month. I personally have had customers do just that no questions asked. It is that simple and easy to do. You can purchase products from Melaleuca as a direct customer and not have to purchase every month. You are not saving any money that way. If you are not purchasing your products from Melaleuca, where are you buying them from? You are forced to purchase many of the products similar Melaleuca's from somewhere else every month unless you manufacture your own products in your basement. For those of you out there that are saying Melaleuca is a scam then you need to do better research. You are only looking for the bad in this company when there is a ton of good information on the net about them. Check out the Better Business Bureau. Did you do that? You are out there trashing a very fine business and a company that is trying to enhance the lives of others. They are not out to hurt anybody.
