Melaleuca is a scam.First they tell you you can make tons of money refering friends, but what they dont tell you is you have to buy from them at least $60 dollars worth of products a month not including shipping and these purchase must be made every month or they send you a box of supplies you do not want or need and charge you anyways.

Before you can even shop at thier site you must pay a membership fee.(Yes you actually have to pay them to spend your money with them) which is total ridiculous.

I was a member for four months and never earned a dime. How could I since I have to get 3-8 people to shop with them for at least 3 months before I could recieve a commision.

Unleess you have tons of friends with tons of cash.I wouldn;t even give this site a chance. They dont even tell you how to disenroll. You have to go through many chanels that are really long and full of hassle to get yourself unenrolled. In my opion it a big SCAM

I have been a customer of Melaleuca for 5 months. It has been a good decision for us, but I agree with others who say that Melaleuca is not for everybody. Unfortunately, there are some out there who have lost the vision of Melaleuca in "enhancing the lives of those we touch ... by helping people reach their goals". Those who misrepresent the real ethics of Melaleuca, Inc. by promising large incomes, no products, etc. are not following company guidelines. If YOU do not READ YOUR customer agreement so YOU know what YOU are agreeing to, it isn't the company's fault, nor is it your enroller's fault (although they should make sure you understand it). In the rush to become successful themselves, they sometimes forget to put your best interests first. They forget that they are "helping others reach their goals." If you received a "New Horizons" presentation before you enrolled (which you should have), you should have seen that earnings vary greatly and it should have been apparent that work would be required to reach the higher levels of income. It also tells you that you must pay a membership fee to take advantage of the price savings as well as income benefits, and you commit to a minimum order each month. It's not true that you have 3-8 people shop with them for three months before you can receive a commission. The first month following any referred customer's purchase, you receive a commission check. No, you don't need "tons of friends with tons of cash" to get a check. A modest 35 Point order by even one person entitles you to a check. If your goal is "tons of money", then you eventually need lots of people who purchase products faithfully and the personal discipline to work with them as a dedicated leader to help them "reach their goals", then yours will come. Melaleuca is no different than anything else that is worthwhile. Honesty and hard work will give the results you desire if you diligently work for them.

WOW.... I have been a "customer" of Melaleuca for about 7 months now. You know, I am thankful that I didn't see these comments before I enrolled. I would like to share MY experience, if I may... First off, I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. I would hope people would also consider that not everyone has such an experience. Everything that you complain about, I was told about before I signed. (Monthly order requirement, how to cancel etc, back up order etc...) I went on 3 presentations before I signed. I have done Avon, SMC, Passion Parties, to name a few. Needless to say, I was sceptical. I was one of those people, I think, that believed you could get something for doing NOTHING. I guess I thought it would just "happen." Well, I haven't really worked my business, but I am starting to at this point, and I will tell you WHY. First, the Replenex. I have had hip trouble for over 10 years, and it was to the point I couldn't hardly get up when I sat down. I walked with a limp. I am only 36, and could see myself having hip surgery in the very near future. I couldn't sleep at night because I HAVE to sleep on my sides, which aggrevated my hips. I had tried dept. store brands of Glucosamine with little improvement. I started taking the Replenex (figured, what do I have to lose??) and in one day....mild improvement. After a few days, significant improvement. After a couple months? I am riding bikes with my kids, walking 2 miles a few times a week...and SLEEPING AT NIGHT! Melaleuca gave me my life back!!!!!!! My daughter has had a problem with her skin since she was about 3 years old. Everything made her ITCH! She would dig sores to the point or scaring. She is now 10, so this went on about 6 years. It didn't matter what lotion, bath soak, or laundry detergent I tried....NO RELIEF. I mentioned it to several doctors and all they did was lecture her and suggest more lotion. NO RELIEF. Sadly, her legs and arms, after 6 years are covered with scars. Well, since "switching" to Mela Power, and having her use the Renew lotion, a 100% recovery. She doesn't complain of itching any more from her cloths. Her sores are all healed except 1 and it's almost gone. Thank you Melaleuca!!!! Since I was a child, I have never been able to take vitamins. My mother thought I just didn't want to go to school when I was sick every morning after taking a Flintstone type childs vitamin. I later tried vitamins like One-a-day...and even prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant. They all had one thing in common, they made me SICK. For the last year and a half, I had felt SO RUN DOWN. I had to take naps every day. In my valu-pac, came a bottle of the Vitality for women vitamins. I fully expected these to have the same result as allllll the others I had tried over the years. What the heck, I paid for them right? Well, they didn't make me sick!!!! I was getting my energy back and felt like living again!!! I can tell when I forget to take my vitamins. BIG..HUUUGE difference!!!! A few months ago, I tried the Melaleuka Naturals shampoo. I have to tell you, I was disappointed it didn't have that sweet floral perfume scent as my normal brand. I believe I have the 32 oz bottle. Well, I used it anyway. This ONE BOTTLE has lasted me 2 months with 4 of us using it regularly, and occasionally 2 more people using it. (My brother that is building a house next door, as well as, his son.) I have to tell you, my hair is softer, fuller, and healthier than I EVER remember it being. I don't even have to condition it anymore. My brother said the same thing about HIS hair. We have even discovered that my daughter's hair has some natural body! Normally, by now my hair would need a trim from all the dry dead ends, as well as my daughters. NOPE! I wouldn't DREAM of trimming it! I will never go back to the more expensive (I won't even THINK about using the cheapies like Suave) store brands again! Even my salon brands didn't have this effect on our hair! I was on a call one night and we were discussing product experiences. Some of the ladies bragged about the Sol-u-Mel Cleaner. Well, the next day, I was doing my housework and decided I would give it a shot. I sprayed it all over the inside of my microwave (that looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in the 3 years I had owned it, even though I had used several different cleaners on it.). Well, I went on to wipe down my counter, went back and just WIPED the inside of my microwave. To my surprise, in ONE WIPE......NO SCRUBBING.....it was coming spotless!! Well, I was so excited I decided to move over to the wall where my trashcan sits. No matter how hard I beg and plead everyone to be careful, trash still gets on my wall next to it. I sprayed, wiped...and VIOLA! GONE! I then moved on to my fridge which had some grime on it toward the bottom I hadn't been able to get off in spite of trying everytime I cleaned. GONE! Bathroom sink...a red (unidentified) substance....GONE! Marks on my bathroom floor....GONE! I used about 3/4 of the 24 oz spray bottle that day just hitting things other cleaners would not remove. I was so excited! Inspite of regular cleanings at the dentist, and being reminded to brush EVERY DAY, my 15 y/o sons gums were always swollen and prone to bleeding. Since using the Melaleuca tooth polish and mouth rinse, GONE. His gums are healthy! I have heard numerous testamony about the tooth polish, but it's very different when you experience it for yourself! These are just a few examples of what Melaleuca has done for our family personally. This is why, inspite of all my past failures, I have decided to share it with others. I may not get rich, but I believe in the products from my own personal experience, and feel GOOD about sharing them with others! Especially after my niece came to stay with me for a weekend, and after using the products decided to enroll without me even asking her! I knew then that I was onto something. As far as the product point requirement, I meet that with my laundry pac that I buy alone. I think I've only had one or two months when I haven't used at least 50 product points. I then try new products, or buy my cosmetics (that are better than any department store brand I have tried. I am prone to breakouts from any other brand I have tried. Note with Nichole Miller. I can't even tell I have it on.) and what not with my advantage dollars I earn every month. I have yet to try a product that I haven't liked. The people in Customer Service are the nicest, most helpful people I have ever worked with. (I had been in retail and retail mgt almost all of my adult life.) My team is sooo supportive and helpful. (More so than anyone I have worked with.) The tax benefits are outstanding! The products are outstanding! I'm going to share them with EVERYONE I know because I owe the people I care about that much. If they can improve MY life, they can improve the others. I honestly don't care if I ever make a dime. I have my health/life back!!! I have had nothing misrepresented to me. Everything was out in the open from the beginning. Again, I am thankful I didn't find these comments before I signed, or I would still be in pain and not feeling well. I am one that would let the comments of 2 or 3 out weigh the satisfaction of tens of thousands. I hope others out there will not. As for the income? Well I will let you know, since I am just starting to seriously work the business. Thanks for listening! May God bless and keep you.

Frances, it sounds like you had a bad experience with Melaleuca, and I am sorry about that. However, the agreement that you signed or accepted online does state that you need to purchase 35 points worth of product. For me, this has ranged from 35-60 dollars including shipping. But, you must remember that you are purchasing everyday products- such as laundry detergent. This means that I do not have to go to a local store (like Wal-Mart) for these items. If you do not place an order Melaleuca does send you a backup order- but you can choose what is sent to you in that backup order. That way you never get products you don't want. I don't know why you were not able to view their website but anyone can view the products- you are just paying full price. You can visit www.melaleuca.com and www.saferforyourhome.com without being a preferred customer. As far as making money goes, it is a home based business and it takes time to do that. In my first few months I was making very little, but once I started really working I enrolled quite a few people. The people that I have enrolled have responded to the ads I have on the web, etc. I refuse to badger my friends and family. Although, many of them have seen or used the products in my home and are starting to ask me about them! As for the cancellation process- it has to be done through the mail, as is also stated in the agreement that you signed, or went online to digitally accept. All you do is write a note with your name, phone number, and ssn# to: Melaleuca 3910 S. Yellowstone Hwy. Idaho Falls, ID 83402-6003 Simply state that you need to cancel, and send it in before the 25th of the month to cancel for that month. That information should also be available through your enroller. I just wanted to share my experience, and provide some information. It has been wonderful for me.
