You will never be able to get out of the lease. Make sure at the end of the lease you pay the payoff, generally is 10% of your monthly lease. If you dont they will keep charging, (fine print).
Find a company that will offer you interchange plus. This is the best route for a merchant to go. This will lower your fees, try not to go higher than interchange and 40 basis points with 10 cents a transaction. Then tell Merchant Lynx nothing, have the other company to REPROGRAM your terminals.
NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT, make sure you savings with the new company will cover the monthly minimum (generally $25 a Month and statement fee which is generally $10) So if they are saving you $35 a month per line it is wise to switch even if the savings is eaten up to where you break even. merchant Lynx is KNOWN to raise their rates frequently.
Hope this helps

They pulled the same thing on my business.. Once I realized I was scammed by the Merchant Linx Services sales rep names Peter RHEE.. who changed our contracts after giving us one rate and suggesting our lower rate would make up for the terminal lease fee and save us 300.00 per month.. Our first bill with MERCHANT LINX SERVICES was 300 hundred dollars more then our previous processor... I packed up the credit card termials and mailed them back with a letter of cancellation certified mail. I requested an affidavit of forgery for the lease.. If the lease contract was signed on the Merchant Linx Contract and merchant linx saleman with just your initials it might not stand up in court. We then CHANGED our Bank Accounts..so these parasites stopped ripping us off. They put us on collections.. I then sent the forgery documents which were rejected by First Data Leasing to the collection agency and they told me they have to kick the matter back to First Data because my contract with First Data was represented by Merchant Linx Services.. I never dealt with First Data Leasing or whatever they are.
ALways GOOGLE SEARCH TOP PROCESSORS.... Get lists of the highest rated ones.. MERCHANT LINX is the TOILET SCUM OF THE EARTH... I am now with Heartland Payment Systems.. they are 100% more honest and trustworthy then Merchant Lynx.. Merchant Lynx customer service.. is ghetto.

I'm having a real bad experiences with Merchant Lynx Services. As always, once you just open your business, there are numbers of sales reps try to get your business with their company. This particular company got to my attention because the sales rep told me that this company is affiliated with the same bank which I do business with. As you all know, the sales rep always try to sell their product(s) with all of promising statements that make you think that this is a good and reliable company to do business with.
Despite of mentioning the base rates, this particular sales rep did not mentions about the hidden fees that should have make you think twice before you sign the contract(s). On Oct. 4 2012, they charge me 2 times for the amounts of $99.00, and $10.00. When I called them, they said that the charges were for 2 applications fee (for 2 lines). Again, I don't recall that the sales rep mentioned it to me, but it was written in fine prints in the contract(s). Later, on Oct. 15 2012, they charged me again with $102.70.
At this point, I already had a bad feeling about this company. I called the company back and they said that the charge was for the fee of leasing of the machine. This time, this sales rep really 'got' me and 'nail' me down with all of the charges! I tried to call the sales rep again to ask for the explanations about this matter, but as always, the sales rep never call me back. Do not be surprised that once you signed the contract(s), you will never be able to reach your sales rep. I tried to call up to 3-4 times a day, leaved messages and still until today, I never get the call back from the sales rep.
On Oct. 29 2012, the Merchant Lynx Services charged me again with 2 charges for the amount of $159.00, Amazing! My business is about two months old, as for now, I try to do whatever to survive and support my wife and 2 kids...I thought by having a credit card service in my business will help to generate me business, but this not what I expected from the Merchant Lynx services! Within 1 month, they have already charged me for $620.68 and yet my sales from the credit card service was only for the amount of $446.30. I have never got any statements from this company...all I know about the extraordinary charges from this company is from my bank statement.
During the visit, the sales rep promised to give you gift cards for your business and as for today, I have never got that gift cards! I decide to call the office and try to talk to whoever can help me with this matter. And guess what? I have been transfer up to 8 times before I can talk to the right person. I told them about the situation that I am really not happy with their services and want to close the account. They said that I have to pay $495.00/line (I have 2 lines, credit/debit) and 48 months worth for the lease of the machine (close to $2,000)
Wow.....now, they are really nail me down! I really need help to get out from this mess, I was to naif and believed easily for whatever the sales rep told and promised me. English is my second language, I think they really took advantage and did me wrong. This experience will be my first and last time that I ever want to do business with them again. When I did my research online about this company, I was so shock and could not believe that I am not the only one who got victimized by this company. I think what they did was wrong and unproffessional. Please be carefull, read every single of the 'fine' prints in the contract(s) and do not be another victim of the Merchant Lynx Services!
