Merkle Home Improvement, Merkle Roofing Improperly installed shingles. Lake Orion Mi Michigan
in May 2006 Merkle ripped off our old roof, and installed new GAF Timberline 30 year shingles for $3500. After noticing a roof leak this past week, I called a local, recommended roofer to inspect. He stated immediately that the shingles were not installed as prescribed by GAF. They should have been stepped, but they were installed in the old shingle method. He stated the packaging had clear instructions. He took photos to document.
We are now paying to have this 12 year old roof stripped, replacing many sheets of plywood, and the same brand shingles replaced. This is now an $8500 hardship.
