Metro Furniture takes money for order doesn't order but uses money as capital to buy for self Nashville Tennessee
We moved from the beautiful state of Kentucky, to the beautiful state of Tennessee in March 2002. By September of 2002, had purchased a brand new home in Hermitage, TN. and then began making the attempts to furnish the house with furniture, as we were limited having moved from a small apartment.
Moved into a house with cathedral style ceilings, and knew we needed a very large piece of furniture to place against one wall to fill some of the void space. This piece of furniture came as a result of a large entertainment center that exceeded the normal height of less than 8', to one that was around 9'.
Found the beautiful piece of furniture at Metro Furniture off Harding Road in Nashville. Paid the store nearly $3000, and the furniture would have to be ordered, but would have in about 2 weeks. At 2 weeks, the furniture had not arrived at the store. When we inquired of the owner, she said that it would be arriving within the next couple of days. After that, furniture still hadn't arrived. We began getting promises daily that the furniture was on a truck in Memphis, would be there in the afternoon of one day. Furniture didn't arrive, that day or the next.
Finally, the salesperson told us that the furniture had never been ordered. It appears from what the salesperson told us, was that this owner was on a 'cash only' relationship with the furniture manufacturer due to problems in the past, and that she had taken our money to use for other purchases in the store, rather than ordering the piece of furniture we had paid for and waited for almost a month to receive.
We did get our money back, in cash, but will never again do business with someone that has lied to us in the past, and most definitely would not order anything from them. If they'll lie to me, they'll lie to you as well.
Beware, even though she advertises on Christian radio that she is a Christian, her past behavior gives no evidence to her claims.
