Ever since T-Mobile purchased MetroPCS, things have really gone downhill.

Without warning, they turned off my bill reminder text msg service - not once but twice. So when I was late paying, they turned my service off - again without any notification. I then found out that customers cannot turn this service on or off via their account, but instead must call MetroPCS and do it over the phone.

I have an elderly parent that I'm caring for and if the assisted living facility tried to call me, I would never have received the call. I've sent a complaint to the FCC and written my Senators. Hopefully, Congress will pass regulation disallowing carriers to shut service off without first notifying customers ahead of time.

Corporate Response in Disguise

Never had this problem when it was just MetroPCS.  Sounds like a typical corporate social media troll response.

T-Mobile is begging Sprint to buy them.  Hopefully Sprint will and get rid of the T-Mobile people in charge.  Also, make sure you don't inadvertently support T-Mobile by using carriers like Mint Mobile which use T-Mobile's network.  Cut off all T-Mobile's revenue streams.

Typical attitude of someone who tries to blame everyone else instead of taking personal responsibility.

When you signed up for service you are given the terms and conditions of the account. You also sign stating you have read and agree to those conditions, which include the item that if you are paying late they have the right to disconnect your service. That is YOUR notification.

It is amazing how much effort you are going through to avoid responsibility. Writing a complaint to the FCC and Congress? Trying to get them to create a law for something that already exists?

If this phone is such a life and death issue, YOU should be taking the responsibility to make sure that the phone doesn't get cut off.

Instead of writing the FCC or Congress, you should write yourself. You don't need to write a lot, just a note that you can post on your refigerator or bathroom mirror that will "remind" you that your bill is due on a certain date. That note could stay up all month..or months.

Your bill is due on the same date every month, so put your "reminder" a few days before so that, even though it shouldn't change significantly, you could confirm the amount owed.

You could set up an Auto-Debit on your account to guarantee it will be paid on-time. Of course with your lack of responsibility and wanting to blame everyone else it would be unlikely you would account for this and probably cause yourself several overdrafts.
