Hello

I am writing this letter to inform all potential clients to beware of Michael Anthony William’s owner of Project Restore & More LLC.

I own a professional business finance consulting business where I assist business owners to obtain business financing for their company.  Mr. Williams was referred to me by a colleague to assist with funding for his company.  During my interaction over the phone with Mr. Williams he learned that I had some work that I was working on obtaining quotes for my personal home.  Mr. Williams stated that since I was helping him obtain funding for his business that he would work to give me a good offer for the renovations.

I thus invited Mr. Williams to my home to show him what I wanted to do in my basement and main living area.  He took some pictures and wanted to take a few days to run some numbers.  On his next visit to my home, I told him that I wanted to begin the work in my basement which included painting, installing projector and speakers in theatre room, and bathroom remodel.  Mr. Williams constant words were that since I was doing his loans for him that he would work with me.

I informed Mr. Williams that I still needed the numbers to prepare the budget for the work.  His first number came in at $11,500 for the entire basement.  I thanked him for the offer and informed him that I needed to think about it and discuss it with my wife.  He responded by saying “you know what, since you are helping me with my business and you just purchased your home, I am going to look out for you.  I will do the whole thing for $4500.  To myself I am thinking how he just shaved off that much money so fast in his head.  I hesitated and said, “wow that is a great price!” He went over the details and stated that basically he was doing it and the $4500 covered the cost of materials.

Now, the second time he came to my home it was March 10th, 2021, and later that evening he sent me a text at 11:06pm that said, “I have another proposition for you…Like I said I really appreciate everything you are doing for me.  If you can get everything done for my loans, I will do everything we discuss for the basement for NOTHING!!!!!”  Now after seeing that I paused and said to myself something is not right.  Nevertheless, I called him the next day to inform him that I could not allow him or anyone else to come into my home and work for free.  However, if he could honor the $4500 price for the basement then we had a deal.

Over the next few weeks, we worked on coming up with a custom color that was going in the main floor area.  Then on April 2, 2021, I received another text from Michael that said, “I forgot to tell, I got a shipment of granite came in this week…I’m going to do your kitchen countertops for free (housewarming gift). He said again, “I really appreciate what you are doing for me and my wife.”  In the coming days he brought over samples of granite for the kitchen as well as samples of flooring and tile for the basement bathroom.

On May 1st Mr. Williams sent me a text message and informed me that he emailed me an invoice, then on Sunday, he called me to inform me that he will need $4500 deposit to get started on the work. He stated that the deposit was for him to get the materials and supplies to do the renovations that we discussed.  On Monday May 3rd Michael showed up with a painter and we briefly discussed what was going to take place.  I informed him that my son was on my business account and that he would get the $4500 check around noon for the deposit.  Later that day I was able to review the invoice that was emailed to me only to realize that it was for $25,445!!!

When I got to my home after work, I had a long conversation with him to inform him that these numbers where not what we discussed and that the work should stop immediately.  He then began to inform me that the invoice was only for me to see the value of what he was going to do and what the normal cost would be for a regular customer and that he was not charging me that.  After we came to an understanding he left for the day.

He came Tuesday morning to check on the painter and informed me that the granite shop was backed up on getting the granite cut and polished for the bathroom and pool room, and that once everything was done, he would perform the renovations.  That Friday the painter was about finished, and he asked me about the upstairs, so I informed him that we wanted to finish the basement before we started in any other area.  He came to the home to inspect the painters work and left.  He informed me that the audio engineer would come Saturday to finish up the theatre room, but he never provided details.  He said that he was going to reach out to him and get back to me, but that was the last time that I heard from him.

I called and text him, but I never heard from him again.  About a week later, a subcontractor who hired the painter came over to retrieve their tools that were left over from the painting of the basement.  I ask her, “have you heard from Michael, because I have been unable to reach him?”  She hesitated and then began to tell me that she has not heard from him, and neither did he pay her so that the painter could be paid.  She also informed me that she was contacted by Michael to do this job from the neighbor of Michael Williams.  However, Michael claimed from the beginning that he had an entire crew that worked for him but turns out he found these people a couple of days before coming to the house to perform the work.

The contractor did not know him and said Michael was not educated in doing any of the work that I hired and paid him to do, and this is the reason he had these others to include the painter and contractor to do the work for him.  So long story short Michael Anthony Williams the owner of Project Restore & More is a fraud and scammer.

The cost of painting the basement was left off the invoice, but I received two other quotes for $2000 to perform this painting, thus I was out $2500.  In addition, since then I reached out to the audio engineer and had to pay him an additional $1,000 to finish my theatre room and another $1,000 to another contractor to finish some of the work that Mr. Williams started but did not complete.

ALERT - Please be advised that his wife Carita Y. Williams also has a construction company called Custom Design Renovations LLC and that they both may be looking for other people to scam.

They have address in McDonough, GA, Covington, GA, and roots in Alabama where his company was originally formed.
