When following up it turns out that UPS had lost it, then spend 3 weeks trying to get it straighten out. Lenovo never took responsibilities. Cancelled the old order and then ordered a new one - this time they delivered but no operating system was installed. Now it has been already over a week and they cannot manage to send a shipping label so I can return the laptop. Michael Fredenburg is useless as he has no authority to make decision. His charachter is disgusting. He is a dispicable human being. We feel bad for his wife and family.

I had occassion to deal with Mr Fredenburg about 3 years ago when I sent my daughter's computer to the Lenovo repair depot. It was an issue with the jack for the power supply and I had explicitly indicated that the technicians did not have permission to alter the hard drive which contained a significant amount of my daughter's university work. We did not bother to make copies as there was an expectation that the hard drive would be untouched - the Lenovo paperwork sent with the machine required express permission to do so.

The machine came back and the hard drive had been re-formatted, causing all kinds of issues for my daughter. So I filed a complaint. The data could not be retrieved, but my complaint was escalated to Mr Fredenburg who called me personally and appologized. He assured me that the problem at the repair depot would be addressed and asked if there was any Lenovo product that i might be interested in. Long story short, he personally arranged for me to receive another laptop at cost - top of the line ideapad w mouse, MS Works, and 3 yr on site warranty equalling about $1600 for about $430 CAN.

He is one of the most professional, helpful and pleasant gentlemen that I've had the pleasure of dealing with.

 I actually had a very positive and refreshing experience dealing with Michael. I had a broken U530 laptop and he sent me an upgraded replacement immediately. He was professional and apologetic. I like him and was surprised to read the complaint here. He only deals with policy exceptions, so I doubt a misplaced order or operating system complaint would ever reach his level. Thanks for the outstanding customer service Michael. I will be buying more Lenovo products as a result of his service.
