I started working at Michigan Microtech in September 2004, I had to take FMLA due to a serious that I was having. FMLA ensures that you will have a job when you come off of medical leave. When I called to go back to work I then found out that I was laid off. I applied for Unemployment but was denied. The reason that Michigan Microtech gave was they had lack of work./ The did not treat the employees fair at all anyway. We were overworked and underpaid. Do not apply to work for this failing company.

This is obviously a very scummy employer. If you are "laid off" you are automatically entitled to unemployment. If you were fired for direct insubordination, or quit, or something like that they would have a case. Your rights under the FMLA are protected by federal law. The U.S. Dept of Labor, and the Justice Dept will get involved. You need to file as many complaints to as many agencies as you can. OSHA is a real good one to have on your side. Any safety violations there? They pay rewards! Take them down.
