Three of us bought Mad Dog Multimedia products from Microcenter, one DVD writer was bought in-store in Fairfax, VA and a DVD writer and DSP 5.1 Sound Card were purchased online.

All instructions were meticulously followed, in one case the rebate was rejected for being "invalid purchase location" even though I printed the rebate with the extremely clear instructions right in the store in front of the sales associate! I told him I had reservations as I would not select this product if the rebate was not honored, he assured me that there was "not a chance they won't give you your money, this is a great deal."

Next, my friend's equally meticulous mailing of a rebate resulted in there being "no record" of it being mailed, and after eight weeks and a direct call to Parago AKA rebatesHQ her rebate was placed in the "Mad Dog Appeasement program." While the online record states she would be paid within 15 days, payment has not arrived in 21...par for the course as Parago has also ripped her off on a Staples "easy" rebate in which she was promised a check twice with NO Delivery for a purchase made in January.

Last, a Mad Dog DSP sound card with a $25 rebate was backordered, and when my friend called to cancel the order because she was concerned her rebate would not be valid, she was assured by Microcenter customer service that the rebate would be valid if posted from the time of shipment and NOT the time ordered. Verbatim, "If you don't get your rebate we can always credit your account and bill it back to them."

So she takes late delivery and meticulously follows rebate submission instructions, only to get rejected for be being outside the postmark date over 8 weeks later. In a call to Microcenter in which she requests the money be credited as promised, she is told Microcenter will call to have the rebate re-activated. Four months later, the rebate has not arrived and multiple calls to Rebatestatus customer service has yielded nothing.
