My wife & I had a similar experience with the sales rep. that sold us our vacuum. We also feel that he not only deliberately kept information from us, he outright lied to us. We were wrapped into a contract that we ended up paying over $3,600.00 for mediocre vacuum.
That's not the worst part! They have a warranty policy that requires a sales rep. to visit your home and inspect your vacuum once a year. During that visit you are required to buy filters for the next year. Even if you have some left-over you must buy the correct amount to keep the warranty.) The first year they cost us $240.00. The next year it was $105.78. This last year it was $95.96. (These filters can be found on ebay for less than $10 for the years supply.)
When our vacuum needed service, they claimed that the damage to our vacuum hose fell under the "unusual use/abuse" category. And they tried to charge us $150.00 for the repair.
Every year they call, every year we ask them to buy back the vacuum even for 1/4 the cost. This last rep. told that "everyone he has visited in Utah was unhappy with the product." We never will do business with this company again, and we wish we never had. If a salesperson comes to your door, know that you will be scammed!
You can buy the same product from ebay for 1/10 the cost. Most of them expire with 0 bids. :)
