Midland Credit - MCM Mistaken Identity Nationwide
A few months ago my son, who has a semi-common name, answered the phone & handed it to me because he was being badgered. I asked the man who he was & couldn't understand his Middle-Eastern accent. I asked who he was with three times before I could understand him saying Midland Credit.
He was calling about a credit card account on my son from 11 years ago and we'd better "pay up now". My son was 18 at the time & didn't have a credit card then or now. He also wanted me to confirm the last 4 digits of my son's Social Security number - I refused. He then got nasty and said he knew we lived at 2 addresses I've never heard of.
He finally got aggravated because I started singing loudly since he wouldn't listen and said he'd look into it and hung up.
Sunday we got a call from MCM & it was a woman & again I couldn't understand her name - Middle-Eastern again.
This time she demanded to speak to my son, except she insisted on speaking to HER, not HIM. Then tried to tell me how we were going to get sued & that she knows where we live and rattled off 2 addresses I've never heard of.
These people won't let me speak to their supervisors and I just want them to go away.
What do I do?!?
