Midwest Center For Stress Charged 8 times more than I thought I agreed to and would not let me return it. Oak Harbor Ohio
I saw an informercial about a set of tapes for getting rid of stress and anxiety. I thought the total cost was $65.00 with $15.00 paid up front for shipping. Money back guarantee. When I called to place my order, the operator talked me into buying a monthly shipment of specially blended vitamins, which I could cancel at any time. I refused all the other things she wanted to sell me.
When I got the package I set it aside to use at a later date. After I had paid one charge for $14.95 and one for $64.95 I received another bill for $64.95. I thought the company made a mistake and billed me twice so I called to get it straightened out.
I was informed that there would be 8 charges for $64.95. The lady I talked to, Jennifer, said she could not give me a return authorization number because I had gone past the 30-day free trial. I told her I had not even opened the package and they could keep the two payments I had alreay made. She said it was not possible. I told her I would just return the package anyway. She said without the return authorization number they would not accept it and it would not be credited to me.
I asked to speak to a supervisor. She said the supervisor would tell me the same thing and she would not let me speak to anyone else. She did give me a first name and address to write to about this but she was sure I was going to have to pay the full price.
I did get mad when I found out that they had already applied the third charge of $64.95 to my credit card. I told her I thought they were supposed to help reduce stress, not induce stress. I told her I would have never bought the tapes if I knew they cost over a hundred dollars, let alone over $400. She told me that I was told several times of the charge but I do not believe that. This is something I just would not spend that kind of money on and I don't think a legitimate company would do business like this.
