Mike Toricelli Exploitation of vulnerable adult addict Laguna Beach And St. Pete Florida
My law firm maintains the honor of representing a family who paid in excess of $20,000 in admission fees on behalf of D. to a drug rehabilitation center in Florida. The family was referred to the facility by Mike Toricelli who represented himself as an independent interventionist. Mike counseled the family that this particular center was best suited for D. by misrepresenting the facility, the program, the nature of the supervision, and the qualifications of the "medical" professionals on staff. D. presented to the center and remained there for only a matter of hours before leaving. He was not examined by any medical professional nor provided any services. The center has refused to refund monies.
The lawsuit cites wrong-doings including violation of the vulnerable adult statute. During the course of litigation we have taken numerous depositions and have obtained substantial documentation. Evidence demonstarates that Mike Toricelli was not entirely independent of the facility and rather was paid a significant commission.
