ORA magazine is like any magazine or publisher that sells advertisements. They receive various material form vendors who want to sell products through the pub lication. It is outside the scope of responsibility for ORA to verify the use of this product by any company, group, or even a country.
Tha failure is on part of Mile Marker winches who had chosen to submit this information to the magazine companies. If Mile Marker winches claim use or testing, then they have the burden of proof to show that the advertisement is true.
You cant blame a magazine for not fact checking every ad that comes their way, you should simply realise that any mag is selling a service to a company. If the company receiving that service has betrayed the public trust, then be angry with the company providing the misleading advertisement for publication. ORA is a good magazine with decent articles and lots of ads from companies all over the USA. If you want something and are a smart consumer, you do your own homework on the products BEFORE you blindly follow some ad and run out to buy one.
I support the U.S. military and am proud to be an American with a voice to say my opinion.

Mile Marker Used Pictures of Our Soldiers to Advertise Thier Products, While We Were Under Threat of Chemical Attack. Our military intelligence had relayed to us that there was a high probability that our advisaries were going to use chemical weapons against us before they gave up thier capital. So yes, Mile Marker acted completely out of line and cared about their bank accounts instead of the men on the front lines protecting their FREEDOMS. I WONDER IF THE OWNER OF MILE MARKER HAS A SON OR DAUGHTER IN THE ARMED FORCES, MOST LIKELY NOT. If my unit had any idea that your company was going to do that to our soldiers we would have lost your luggage, or completely smashed all of your equipment (Purely on accident.) Dear fellow soldiers......please give all company representatives of MILE MARKER extra special treatment hence forth.

Dear Mr. Camden, The Mile Marker Hydraulic System is a powerful and very good system. However, the company Mile Marker advertised in the magazine "Off Road Adventures" who is owned/operated by 4 parts who is owned/operated by Transamerican Auto Parts. That advertisement is a horribble advertisement for the reasons that are stated above, but I strongly feel that the editors of the magazines should have caught all the mistakes. The truth of the matter is that MILE MARKER and anyone affiliated with the company 4 Wheel Parts is being put under a microscope by several STATE and FEDERAL AGENCIES. This company has an Unsatisfactory Performance Record with the Better Business Bureau that can be verified at www.labbb.org and has just obtained 15 STATE ISSUED VIOLATIONS that will be in print by all major media entities. You may read just some of the following misconduct 4 Wheel Parts has done at the following site below: www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff112163.htm www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff104095.htm www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff108276.htm Sorry for the collateral damage, bring it up with the owners/operators of 4 Wheel Parts

The following came directly from MileMarker's web site. Are you saying that this is all a big lie?
U.S. Army Equipment
The choice for the U.S. Army is MileMarker's 2-Speed Hydraulic Winch System. After 2 1/2 years of rigorous testing , the choice to upgrade from the problematic electric winches was easy. Using the stock power steering pump as the hydraulic source, MileMarker winches have pulled a 8600 lb. Military HMMWV (Hummer) up a 60% grade in the dead of winter 70 feet NON-STOP with no driver assist!
MileMarker winches maintain the strongest power to weight ratio in the market. Outfit your truck with a MileMarker Winch and mounting combination and you too can endure the benefits the U.S. Army has. Accept no other, when the job needs to get done, MileMarker's there to work!

I went to Mile Markers web site and became very upset when I saw even more photos of our soldiers being used for sales propaganda right before a major war.
The photos speak for themselves, these are our very young 18 year old soldiers that have been told that Saddam this time will use chemical and biological weapons against them if they try to take his country.
So, this company MILE MARKER took photos of our soldiers in this state and used them to make profit. All of us soldiers sacrificed so much to protect the FREEDOM of this country and asked for nothing in return, except a little respect.
How dare our soldiers for profit.
