BEWARE of Milestone Electric. After a power outage, Oncor suggested to call an Electrician to check for potential problems with power outage on our property. I called Milestone Electric based on having seen their ads on TV. The Electrician came out as scheduled and looked at the Meter Base (suggestions by Oncor) and Breaker Box and determined very quickly that there was no problem on our end. The Electrician told my employee and my husband that he cannot justify charging us more than the trip charge of $69 because there's nothing that he can do and  that everything looks OK. He preceded to tell us, in order to get inside the Oncor Box, we had to call Oncor out to cut the lock, but he did not think there is anything wrong with it. He called somebody he knew at Oncor to verify his suspicion and chatted for a while. Only a small part of the conversation with that woman on the other end was about getting Oncor back out to check the fuse. The Electrician stated that the fuse may be going bad on us and it's Oncor’s issue (found out from Oncor later that a fuse does not slowly go bad, its either blown or not). This all could have been over in 15 minutes tops, but this electrician kept on telling me about all that Milestone Electric offers now (Plumbing, AC etc), and that I should sign up for a yearly service plan for my house (would have been a huge contract for them with 10,000 square feet of home. After I told him that I would look at the paperwork but not sign up right this moment, he changed his price claiming that he really would only make $13 on the $69, and since he's been here for a while he needs to charge additional charges so he can make some money on this call (and yes he actually said that to me at the same time he was telling me what a Christian Faith based Ownership this Company has). Needless to say, he kept on talking, which drove up my bill to $223.75. This guy had me sign a number of papers he claimed was just paperwork Milestone Electric requires him to have signed since I decline the yearly service contract etc. (my mistake for not reading everything on this paperwork and just trying to get him to leave). I handed him the check, thinking I could take up this issue later with Milestone Electric directly. I don’t like to get into confrontations on my property with people I don’t know and had a bad experience questioning a charge with a service before on site. I just wanted the Electrician to leave after he kept on taking up my valuable time with his chatter about his history with the company and his quitting and coming back to Milestones Electric and how a guy who used to work under him now is his Supervisor and Service Manager, among other personal stuff (it is obvious this guy was running up the clock so he could charge me for the time). I was stunned by the bill but wanted this guy to leave my property and thought I could take it up with Milestone, and they would work out this unbelievable charges on my behalf. However, when I called and got connected to the service manager, i realized what a rotten company this is. I explained what happened and told him that I had 2 other people how witnessed what happened, but he too was trying to justify this outrageous rates for no work done. He question my signing the paperwork, telling me that I obviously accepted the charges, not understanding that I wanted this guy off my property. BEWARE of Milestone Electric.  They will charge you a lot more money than they initially state. I have two witnesses that can vouch for the $69 initial charge and his statement off not being able to justify a higher rate. I have been ripped off by Milestone Electric and paid $223.75 for looking at a box and telling me there's nothing wrong. Beware of this company and hire somebody with a good reputation and fair price. Milestones Electrics came out and when they couldn’t find anything worth charging for because there was nothing wrong with the Meter Box, this guy tried to sell me a yearly service plan, and when that didn’t work, he tripped my charge. I am taking this up with Oncor as well, since I found out that the Oncor Technician who came out and recommended this Electrician Call and suggested it was a Meter Box problem, was actually at the wrong address, not our home. So of course there was nothing wrong with our Meter Box and this Milestone Electrician knew it the minute he saw the box.
