I ordered the supposedly "incredible" Milinex Laser Storm vacuum on Saturday, September 17th, 2005. After placing the order via phone prompts, I was uncertain if I had ordered correctly and wanted to make sure that I had. I was told via phone recording to wait 72 hours before I called.

I waited the 72 hours and called their 1-800-716-8667 number given during the phone recording. At the beginning of this ordeal, the first words out of the recorded message was "Due to the overwelming demand" for faster response, please email their customer service at [email protected].

I did not speak with anyone, just given options to choose. I was on hold for over an hour, constantly being told via recording that my business was very important and that a specialists would be with me momentarily. The tv special said buy one for $120 and get one vacuum free plus pay s&h on the steamer and get it for free plus @20.00 S&H fee. The prompts kept asking me to take advantage of additional offers which I declined.

After not being able to reach a real person over a 3 day period, I went to the internet and started checking into the product. I came across this site and read all the feedback from other individuals who had the same problem. I then called my credit card company and asked them if I had been charged for the product, I WAS and was charged $313.70. I was now irate. I should have only been charged around $140.00 which would cover the vacuum & the steam cleaner.

Since I had read other complaints, I remembered there was a different phone number on one of the complaints, so I called it. That number is 212-575-0500 (their corporate office). On the 31st of October I actually spoke with a real person. I asked the person what my order consisted of and was informed that I had ordered 4 vacuums. I told her that I did not order 4 and that I would rather cancel my order at this time. She informed me that it would take 48 hours for the cancellation to be processed, and I told her, they won't be shipped out for another 4-6 weeks, so I didn't mind. She cancelled the order and gave me a reference number right away. I asked her how much the credit would be for and she told me the full amount of $353.70. I guess having "nailed" the correct direct line, really makes a difference in how one is treated.

Now the waiting game begins. Let's see how long it takes for the credit to be issued to my credit card.

11/28/05 I wanted to let everyone know who reads this complaint that with diligence you can receive your refund. I had called the Corporate offices at 212-575-0500 on 11/17/05 and was told by Jessica that my refund would take an additional 10 days. At this point I was upset and I asked to speak to the supervisor of customer services, by the way is Monica Smith. However, Ms. Smith was unavailable at the time. I called back five minutes later and asked to speak with Monica. I was placed on hold for approximately 2 minutes, when Judy came on the phone asking me if she could help me. I told her I was waiting for Monica and she stated that Monica was on another line and she could assist me. I explained the whole situation again to Judy regarding my refund. As I explained my situation to her, she was very polite and understanding. She even apologized for the customer service technician I had spoke to on my first call (Tanya - very rude). Judy told me that Tanya was no longer with their organization. She informed me that my refund would be reflected on my credit card by Wednesday the following week. Today I checked my credit card statement, via the internet & GUESS WHAT, the $313.70 credit was posted to my credit card the same day I spoke with Judy (Nov. 17, 2005). HOORAY!!!! CASE CLOSED

After reviewing my complaint on line, I found that I incorrectly entered the product name. The product is the Power Storm Vacuum. The credit amount I quoted was also incorrect. The correct credit that will be issued to my credit card is $313.70. I contacted the corporate office again this morning, I spoke to Jessica & Emilia who informed me that my order had been cancelled and that my the credit should take anywhere from 7 - 20 days to be processed. When I aked them why it takes so long for the credit to be processed when they charged my credit card the day I placed the order over the phone. The response I received is "that's what we're told to tell the customer". UNBELIVEABLE!!! So, if I time this right, I should see a credit to my card no later than November 11, 2005. Let's See.
