I had a custom bowie knife made by a knifemaker in MN and he did a beautiful job, except couldn't polish the blade to my satisfaction. He did install an ivory coffin shaped micarta handle and spacers which were beautiful. But the blade wasn't right, so I sent it to Mirror Finish Polishing. Well they had it for a long time (7 weeks) and I was wondering if something was wrong. Finally I got it back and they did a decent job on the blade, not perfect but much better than it was. Then I started looking at the handle and the ivory micarta was stained with black blotches, had 4-5 hairline cracks in it and a compression fracture with a large chip taken out of it.
I called them and they first said that they simply thought I knew about the cracks and chip but didn't care. When I told them no, the knife handle was perfect from Sunrise Valley Knives when I sent it they said it must have been damaged in shipping (USPS). I told them that was impossible: it was bubble wrapped and securely packed with newspapers and nothing during shipping could have caused that kind of damage.
They kept saying they didn't do it and I told them it was impossible because it was perfect when I sent it. Since the handle costs $210 to install, they finally agreed, after much arguing, to send me $105 even though they "never did it". I got the check.
When I sent it back to Sunrise Valley Knives for a new handle Jay Maines called me and said the only way that handle could have been damaged like that is if it caught a polishing wheel and flew back with such force against a concrete wall or floor it shattered the handle butt. He said it could not have happened in shipping since micarta is extremely hard and tough. He said even dropping it wouldn't do that much damage.
So, lied to again and again by Mirror Finish Polishing and failed to take responsibility for their mistake. Nobody I'll ever do business with again. Be careful with these guys, or do the right thing and stay away from them.

you still havent shown proof mirror image damaged your knife
accepting funds from mirror image to settle dispute
then bad mouthing mirror finish here after receiving funds
that shows youre not a credible person

Of course I accepted the money, even though it only covered 1/2 of the cost of a new handle. What would you have done, accepted nothing? I thought about Small Claims Court, but they have no enforcement to collect so even if I was sucessful I would have never gotten a dime.
And as far as "no proof the knife was damaged by Mirror Finishing" who do you suggest, sir, did that damage? Take another look at the pictures and tell me how that happened. I accept the professional opinion of a custom knifemaker over the premise that this just magically happened but no one knows why.
And lastly, if I'm a "bad customer" are they a "worst business"? You know, I would have walked away from this if they just admitted that they did it but I do not take kindly to being boldly lied to again and again. They asked for this.

first off,you should have never reported this to ripoff report
why not?because you agreed to accept the funds from mirror finish polishing
to settle this dispute
if you had not accepted the funds from mirror finish polishing,
then you would have a valid reason to file a complaint
you have shown no proof the knife was damaged by mirror finish polishing
mirror finish polishing gives you $100,and you still complain on ripoff report
you have absolutely no integrity
