Puppy born 1/29/09 sire Yasso vom Mittelwest and dam Emily vom Mittelwest to Emily vom Mittelwest co-owner Mark Koston in New York. Puppy was send to Mittelwest in Illinois the week prior to when we received her on Wed 3/25/09 about 7pm. Puppy ate nothing that night. Thurs 3/26 and Fri 3/27 puppy ate minimal, drank water, but has loose stools. I thought perhaps just bothered by travel and needed to get use to us.

Sat 3/28 puppy ate barely two bites, was drinking less and still has loose stools. Now I was thinking maybe worms? Sun 3/29 puppy ate nothing, drank no water and had vomitting and loose stools. Now I know something is very wrong.

Called vet Mon 3/30 and emailed Julie to let her know something is up with the pup and ask how was the pup while Julie had her. Julie responds promptly that pup was fine, at well, vomitting and loose stools sound bad. Went to vet who sent us to ER. Pup diagnosed with parvo needs to be admitted to the tune of $2400.00

Called Julie that night, she said discuss with spouse about what we wanted and let her know. Called her 3/31/09 say we would like refund of purchase price because cost of vet care was more than cost of pup, she said she will discuss with co-owner.

Wed 4/1/09 received voicemail from Julie saying of course she will refund our money it was a "no brainer" for her and co-owner agreed. Co-Owner is send out a check for his half that day and once she receives that she will refund purchase price to our credit card.

Two weeks go by and we hear nothing from Julie. I email her 4/17/09 saying where is the refund, she responds saying she will deal with the refund after Seiger in Illinois weekend of 4/24/09. I emailed her back saying I need refund asap, she ignores email. I called her 4/22/09 and speak with her saying I need refund asap, she said she will refund half that day and half the week after Seiger.

Another two weeks go by, no refund from Julie and no contact from Julie. I called her yesterday 5/6/09 and left two messages asking what is taking so long for our refund and she has yet to respond.

Julie was very prompt with returning emails and calls UNTIL she agreed to refund our purchase price. Then she has not contacted me even once to update me as to why there is a delay or ask for more time. Every contact was initiated by me and she has not refunded our purchase price as promised, almost 6 weeks later.

I just had to write and update this post.  Daisy made a full recovery (thankfully) and is a joy.  Daisy is now almost 16 months old.  This dog is so amazing, her temperment, her intelligence, her color...everything about her is perfect.  I would 100% buy another puppy from Mittelwest German Shepherds.  This dog is bred so beautifully. She is the perfect amount of protective and friendly. We brought her to a wonderful trainer (Mike kelly in hanover) and she has thrived.  I can not say enough about our dog, she is amazing and I am so glad we have her.

Spoke with Julie 6/7/09 and resolved issue. We were having communication issues due to the fact that she had her two beloved dogs die in quick succession and was having to deal with all that issue involved. I had no idea that this had been going on until 5/9/09 but I wrote my report on 5/7/09. so while I was here thinking she is not returning my calls because she is avoiding me, in actuality she was just trying to deal with the situation at home. I wish I had known.

Received Half of my refund

Called my credit card company today and half of my refund was process 5/14/09. Still waiting for the remainder. Feel better that Julie has done this, will feel much better when she processes the remainder.

Spoke with Julie's sister who told me that in the past two weeks Julie has lost Fonzie one week and Bella the next week. So I feel horrible that she has been dealing with this, but feel that she could have sent a quick email to me just explaining the situation. Especially given the amount of times I have called and emailed. I wonder if she has processes any purchases in this time frame, if so then she certainly could have processed a refund. But, at this point I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt, she has had a lot going on, and hope she contacts me early next week.
