Im a 45 yr old deaf male and was an automotive technician at Select auto repair owned by mr. Alaboodi. I had a 1983 mercedes benz 380 sl that was parked at the shop because it had electrical and mechanical problems. i could not afford to fix it because i was only getting paid an average of 250 a week instead of the 400 as agreed upon by the owner and i. I decided to see how much i could get for the car and put it on craigslist. A buyer then showed up and decided to buy the vehicle. i was not informed by mr. Labodi that the car was sold i was just called by mr. Alaboodi that the car was sold and paid for. he handed over the signed title of the car and signed the bill of sale and recived $ 1850 plus $ 250 for making the car run.

He did not give me the money, i then asked for the monet and he said that he will give me the 1996 lexus is 300 that was parked at the shop And use part of the money to get a transmission for it so i can use it while it was not sold yet and if it is sold that we would go to the auction and buy another vehicle to sell and fix, i trusted mr. Alaboodi and just said ok since he was sounding like he was really sincere on yelping me earn extra money, little did i know that he had money problems. i kept asking him about the lexus and he just kept saying he would order the transmission until he sold the lexus and took the money. There was a problem with the title transfer and i just told mr. Alaboodi to give the money back. the money was gone, to complicate things, the shop got padlocked due to failure to pay rent and my car was locked up with mr. Alaboodis tools.

since im deaf and could not use the phone he was the one talking to the landlord on my behalf and i did not know what he said to them. After numerous times trying to recover the vehicle it was now obvoiuos that he will give the buyer the car so he wont get sued. I then recieved a letter from mvd that there was a abondoned title filed on my mercedes benz and that im to pay 500 if we will not get the vehicle , i tried to meet with the landlords rep a certain mike but they did not show up numerous times according to mr. Alaboodi the agreed on the time and date. When they did not show up , they said through mr. Alaboodi that i should send a picture of the title and my license through text or email to mike @ 6024025294 and idid, they said that it was not clear and to resend it, and i did again.

This time they said to send him the back of my drivers license and i did again. Next it was the back of my title and i also did. I felt that mr. Alaboodi together with the land lords rep was just delaying the process so that the abandoned claim on my vehicle came through. I had no car, alone and cant use the phone until my present employer took pity against me and offered to call mike. It was when i was told that the car and title is already transfered and this only benefitted mr. Alaboodi from not getting sued. I was then adviced by my present employer to file. Now im being billed by MVD $ 500 for a vehicle that was sold for $ 1850 which i didnot even get to hold the money, not once. all i want is what is due to me nothing more. my car was technically stolen from me and now i have to pay $. 500 to facilitate its transfer. Inneed your help.

You do need to call the police and make a police report.  Also, you should look into local agencies because they have special landline telephone service for hard of hearing or deaf people and it allows them to be able to use the telephone to comuniate with others. This might be able to help you in life and other issues. Goodluck

You need to get the law involved here. The police are the ONLY ones who can assist you here. What this person has done is FAR greater then JUST GTA. He has robbed a handicapped person. The owner is thinking that YOU wont be able to get any help because you are deaf. DO NOT LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS!! GO TO THE POLICE!! Take an interpretor with you so you dont have to write everything out. That takes FOREVER and you dont want to cause the police to loose interest. And they will if you have to write out your story by hand. I know I deal with my own deaf person in my daily course of business. When he comes in, he can take 20 mins or so just to figure out what he needs due to his inability to communicate efficently. You dont want to have them waiting on you, they are busy and as such cant waste a lot of time. SO TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU!!!!

The owner is going to try and lie his way clear of any charges. But all you need is proof of ownership and registration. You might also grab any old insurance paperwork. Anything that you can bring to establish ownership of this vehicle. Take all the DMV paperwork you have recently recieved. This will all lay out a pattern of abuse by this owner. What he has done is ILLEGAL in EVERY state. He has taken advantage of a disabled individual. YOU HAVE RIGHTS SO GO FIGHT FOR THEM!!!
