My fiance and I bought a used ford taurus from Moore. They seemed really nice and our sales person was great. We had it for less than a month when we realized that the heater didn't work. When we brought it back to have it fixed they told us that the car had a BLOWN HEAD GASKET and they tried to BLAME IT ON US by saying we must have driven it out of water. We had only had it for a MONTH, it had never overheated, and we hadn't even driven it hardly at all! You try to drive a car out of water in only a month's time, NOT HAPPENING! We tried talking to our sales man who AGREED that that was IMPOSSIBLE for it to be our fault, and assured us they would cover most of the cost of the repairs, but we ended up having to pay half the expenses anyway, a total of almost 1000 dollars. The whole time Brett, the owner of Moore, wouldn't even talk to us directly, just send messages through his sales man and service department. They obviously sold us a car with a blown head gasket, and treated us like idiots who did it ourselves.

I'm pregnant with our first baby, and we had no choice but to use the money we had in savings for her nursery to get our car back from these crooks. Plus we had to rent a car while they took their time repairing it, which cost us another 300 bucks. To top it off, when we finally got the car back, the heater STILL DIDN'T WORK and we had to take it back AGAIN. These people are unbelievable. DON'T BUY FROM HERE, THEY WILL SELL YOU ANYTHING JUST TO MAKE MONEY.

I have read this report and I am shocked on the way you and your staff have handle this valued customers problem(s) Not only have you not showed respect to the customer the owner of the dealer had no time to speak with the owner of the vehicle.. From my end I will report your dealer to the BBB in your area so people like you don't get away with scamming people again... I hope the recession will show you how to treat customers.

Our dealership sold the customer a 2001 Ford Taurus...that was probably the biggest mistake. We sold this vehicle "AS IS" no warranty on any components. We had inspected this vehicle and found no issues prior to their purchase on Oct 17. They returned the vehicle to us on November 24 after driving the vehicle over 1,000 miles. In the interest of customer satisfaction we did agree to share the expenses, although we had no obligation to participate in any repairs. The situation with the heater is totally unacceptable...I agree.

I would like to know what year and what was the mileage of the Ford Taurus at time of purchase? I assume the used car was sold as-is with no warranty. Okay, let me get this straight, you were not getting heat from the dash vents and you took the car back to the dealer and they said you had a blown gasket. I do not know how to fix cars and I pay people to work on my car, but I am sure a blown gasket has nothing to do with your heater not working. There is no heater per se in your car. When you select heat, you are directing hot air from the engine area to inside the passenger area. Was the head gasket really blown? Was the head gasket already damaged before you purchased the car? Did you authorize the dealership to do an engine inspection even though you brought your car in for not heat? The head gasket seals the cylinder head to the block. When it blows, it may allow coolant to leak into the engine's cylinders and/or allow compression to be lost between adjacent cylinders or to the outside. Conditions such as engine overheating and abnormal combustion (detonation and/or preignition) can also cause a head gasket to fail. To replace a blown head gasket, the cylinder head must be removed from the engine.
