Morel Mushroom Hunting Chris Matherly Charged me for a mushroom hunt that he ended up canceling and wouldn't refund my money Internet
Please do not give any money to this man or his company. He completely took advantage of myself on a mushroom hunt that never happened. I signed up for a mushroom hunt with Chris Matherly on the Morel Mushroom Hunting website. It was supposed to happen in November in the Olypic Forest in Washigton state on November 11th and 12th. Due to weather reasons he decided to move the hunt until December 11th and 12th. Then 3 days before the supposed hunt he emails the group and says that the mushroom hunt is being cancelled due to weather and that we should instead choose to attend another foray the following year (of which there is only 1 foray in my state next year and it is on the other side of the state!)
This is where Chris gets very sketchy and unethical. I asked for my money back and he essentially refused to return my money for a service that he never provided. He sited a disclaimer on his website that basically said that under no circumstances he would give people a refund for a cancelled mushroom hunt. The only problem with this is that that disclaimer was not the original one posted on his website. The day I told him I was contacting my bank to dispute the charge he went onto his website and changed the wording on his disclaimer. The original version said that he would issue full refunds if HE cancelled the mushroom hunt, which in my case was the situation.
This guy is just out to take your money and has no problem committing fraud. Please also see his Better Business Bureau rating if you don't believe me. The BBB has received many complaints about his company and actually dropped him from their rating system because of how many complaints they were receiving. Don't make the same mistake I did and send this guy your money.
