Why are you so angry? I was only stating facts about Movado. I also agree that $400 is a lot to service a Movado, but you have to also understand that the jeweler padded the price for this service. When I send repairs out for my customers, my company adds between $30 to $300 more to the cost, depending on the product. I know it's not right, but that's how business is done. Now let me tell you about Seiko. There are 3 versions, battery operated, Kinectic (pertaining to motion aka self winding) and Solar (rechargeable battery through artificial light or sunlight). I hope that now you're not so angry. :)

"If you mean SEIKO, most of them are Solar or Kinectic." Thank you for pointing out my typo. (By the way, what is "kinectic"? People in glass houses....etc.) I have 2 SEIKOs and neither one of those are solar or KINETIC. They are both self winding. Both are over 40 years old and ones I picked up in Japan on R&R from 'Nam. And both still work perfectly and have NEVER required service. Band replacement? Yes, which the jewelry shop did for FREE because I bought the bands there. And I don't care how many years you or the original report writer have had your "Movado"s, there is absolutely, positively NO justification to charge $400 to replace a pin and clean a watch! The brand is an expensive, overpriced status symbol (BFG) with piss poor customer service!

Mr. d**k, Movado is a fine time piece and stands behind it's product. The Movado in question is 9yrs old and the pin should not have come out due to normal wear and tear. I have owned my first Movado for 26 yrs now and have never had the pin come out. I place my Movados in their original boxes when not in use and I do not pull the stems out thinking that it will save my battery life (which is a myth) because all that will do is allow moisture and dust to get in to further damage the watch. As for you owning a Sekio, I have never heard of that watch and I have been in this business for 33 years. If you mean SEIKO, most of them are Solar or Kinectic.

So, the original poster is, in effect, paying $400 or more for a 2 year warranty on a $334 watch? How f*king idiotic is that? Oooooo they replace the pin and "clean" it! Big f*king deal! If the watch were really worth that amount of money, IT SHOULDN'T NEED CLEANING. EVER!. I have owned Sekios, Benrus, and a host of other top line watches/chronometers, all with superb results and customer service. Glad I never bought one of these pieces of crap!

As a retail associate who owns 2 Movados, sells and services Movado's (to a certain extent) I can tell you that when your watch went back to Movado, not only did they repalce your pin but they also cleaned and serviced the insides. Therefore your Movado should be warranted for another 2 yrs from the date you received it back.
