Movers USA Inc Movers Insurance Fraud Illegal Workers Stolen Goods Damaged Property Baltimore Maryland
We used Movers USA for a move from Virginia to Texas. When the driver arrived - he had hired illegal workers from in front of a local hardware store. He could not communicate with them since they only spoke Spanish. The furniture they delivered was damaged, many items were missing and they damaged the floors and walls of our new home in Texas during the move.
We would not sign the delivery paperwork due to the damages and requested that the owner of the company contact us to discuss all the problems of the move and damages owed to my husband and I. The owner said that the insurance company would cover any damages and there should be no issues and apologized.
Unfortunately, after 9 months of back and forth with their insurance "Claims Processing Dept" in Staten Island, NY (which would never give us their legal insurance company name) required us to provide 'evidence' of the damages. We provided all documentation including pictures and then submitted the final claim to them which was recently rejected. We were owed almost $4,000 in damages and they agreed to pay $250 for 'good will' citing that there was no proof of the damages or that items were lost or stolen. This was easy for them to deny because their moving company had no tracking system of the items that were to be delivered and we are not sure how they can deny the claim for damages when the pictures clearly show them. They are claiming that the furniture was damaged prior to the move which is a complete lie as well.
What was even worse about the illegal workers the driver used - he didn't even pay them what he promised to pay them and they were in our yard for about an half hour arguing about it.
Bottom line, Movers USA is a crooked company that does not track its cargo, does not insure your goods when moving, and hires illegal immigrants to keep their costs down. Take my advice and avoid them at all costs - they are crooks.
