I opened an account on August 15, 2004. Rented 2 DVD's, kept one day and returned. I recieved a bill on Aug. 25th stating that I owed $41.09 in late fees for 8 movies returned late.

I inquired immediately about this obvious error and was informed that "Tiffany" had rented them. I asked "Who is Tiffany?" They informed me I had allowed her check-outs on my accounts. They had a first name and DOB on the form I had signed. I made the mistake of signing the form ASSUMING the asstistant mng. had only put in the answers to the questions as I gave them. They said Too bad - you signed,

I am 49, live alone, have a good job and an excellant reputation. I know of no one that needs to be nor that I would included on my account. Especially not someone born in 1986.

Apparently the dist. Super. said too bad as well. I then went to our District Attorney as, the first event could have been a clerical error, but as the RUDE asst. mang. informed me "They had to know they had access to your acount to use it." Since this person does not exist in my life then it is clearly fraud on the part of that store, and obviously that clerk as she is the one who typed the form.

The District Attorney does'nt seem to concerned as I am sure he has bigger fish ti fry. I have wriiten an account with cioies and faxed to the CEO...no responce in a week and I don't expect any. I am writting to our nearest comsumer affairs at a local TV news station and intend to write a letter to the editor of our local paper warning comsumers.

Sounds like an employee forgot to clear your screen after you left and the next customer up used your account, that's the {SHIFT+F4} option that brings up the last account. I'm not a big time manager like Tex there, but I do work there, Senior Customer Service; Manager on Duty, and that's just policy that the customer is wrong and we are right. Here's something you can do, however, rent a movie for free(coupon or when we call cause we haven't seen you in a month we give the customer a free rental) keep it for a month and return it late as hell and ask to see your contract, if we can find it, it will state plain as day that we can only charge you what you paid that day. Keep in mind i did fail algebra but 2 times 0 is still zero. We offer military discounts, and often they are late and one soldier finally asked to see his contract, the manager gladly handed it to him and the officer pointed it out. We could only charge him for the two he rented, not the free one got because of the discount. The more you know, the more you can hurt Movie Gallery.

i am a manager of a movie gallery store in texas and have been for ten years--it certainly appears that you have had a bad experience at one of our locations.Since the manager at that location has not appologized, i would like to sincerely appologize on his behalf. We are a hard working company who traditionally go out of our way to insure customer satisfaction. Please accept my appology and let me say that i can imagine how you must have felt.--!
