I am currently having an issue with Nationwide Moving Cost. On 13 April 2009 I elected this company to move my household goods from a storage in Wichita,KS to Pflugerville, TX.

While setting up the arrangements I was told I would be given a 24 hour advance call from the driver to let me know when the items would be picked up. As of 17 April 2009 I still had not received a call. I then called Moving Cost, who gave me a number for Garrett Moving Company. The person I spoke with was unsure about why the driver did not call, and said he was out of the office all day yesterday and the driver would call me back shortly to make arrangements.

At this point I feel uncomfortable with the situation, and I call Moving Cost. The customer service Representative I spoke with started off nice but became unprofessional and hostile. He put me on hold twice and even after I asked to speak with a supervisor he transferred me to the cancellation department. Before transferring me he said he could leave a message and someone will call me back. I said no I don't think so I want to speak with someone right now, he raised his voice and in a hostile manner said Oh I do think so. I am shocked at this point asked him what his issue was and continued to ask for a supervisor and told him I would not argue with him. He finally transferred me to the cancellation department, even after I asked to speak with a customer service department supervisor. I began to speak with Colleen who claimed to be a supervisor for cancellation. She was also rude and did not bother to address to the complaint I was having with Steven. She even stated that my pick up was for today at 3, which I had no idea what time it was supposed to be picked up.

I told her that is is unprofessional and the person I was originally working with, Donald Denis had been great. She then stated oh well he failed to put in the notes that you would be driving up from Texas. I then told he this was ridiculous and I could not believe that she as a supervisor is taking a shot at a fell employee. I never got to far with her, we hung up.

After calling around for a while a supervisor finally gave me a call back. Even after explaining the entire situation to her, she said I could cancel my order but they would keep my deposit because I am within the 5 day window. This unfair, because the company failed to call me to let me know that they would be picking my stuff up today and the rude customer service that I received.

If I would have not called myself the driver would be waiting on me in Kansas while I am 7 hours away in Texas. All I want to do is cancel the service, I do not trust these two companies to transport my items. I am 7 hours away in Texas. All I want to do is cancel the service, I do not trust these two companies to transport my items. I did speak with Donald Denis today 1135 AM central time, who informed me that the 24 hours notice is a guarantee. I feel as though this company has breached their contract and I am entitled to my deposit back.
