I contracted Moving Services to ship a vehicle and personal effects internationally. There were several delays along the way but the vehicle was finally shipped; but without the personal effects. The vehicle has arrived, but with incorrect Bill of Lading details and cannot be released. I have paid in full for the delivery and now cannot get any response from Moving Services, plus the personal effects are missing! The group "Ship Overseas" who sent the vehicle have not been paid by Moving Services either and will not send the bill of lading until they receive payment. They are not answering their phones or emails and my concern is that they are bankrupt or a bunch of cons. My vehicle is sitting in a port

in Romania. My goods are god knows where. What type of action do you suggest? Thanks for your time and advice. Can we please get the bad guys??

I faxed my statement to the FBI, I gave a statement to INTERPOL (International Police). I tried to reach George Evans telephonically to no avail but did send him an email pleading for information. I also emailed [email protected] and cc it to the FBI. At this point I have called so many warehouses up and down the east coast my international calls are costing me a fortune!! But I couldn't possibly put a price on all that is precious to me inside that container. Bill Schureck from the FBI has contacted me on two occasions here in S. Africa. He was very helpful and gave me some leads but they were unable to find my goods. I REALLY NEED MY BOOKING NUMBER- with out that it is virtually impossible to trace the shipment. Can anyone tell me how I can go about finding it? I also managed to trace a cell phone number to the guy that picked up my goods. His voicemail is very professional and he ends his message with God Bless You. I have left 6 messages no returned calls. I feel like I am running into dead ends and I am scared my stuff is being sold off somewhere. For those who found their goods- How long was it before you found your stuff? If anyone has ANY additional info that will help me in my search I would be eternally grateful. ( I have covered all the advice given on the web page). If anyone knows of moving companies that Moving services used in NC I could definitely use that info. Celeste South Africa

I researched "Moving Services for over 6 months. I received nothing but accolades! They were registered with the BBB up to the end of September! I don't understand? My shipment was scheduled for the 26 Sept but was delayed until October 2nd. Everything that I am -was picked up from North Carolina on Oct 2nd and promised for delivery to Sedgefield South Africa within 6 weeks. I paid over $3000.00 up front. Earlier this week I thought I would follow up with the company. All numbers are no longer in service. Here I sit in South Africa at a comlete loss. Where do I go.I sit in Africa with 2 suitcases o my name. Where is everything that is a part of my life. The only Photographs of my belated father lie in that container. I can't even put a price on that. Someone please help me I don't know where to turn!!! - Celeste

I've talked to George Evans

#4Consumer Comment

Mon, November 29, 2004

To the person who asked if anyone had spoken to George Evans, the answer is yes. I spoke to him once (after ~4 phone tries) and he told me my Moving Services shipment had been released by "them", as in "they've released all shipments." This didn't make any sense, but he said "if you don't get a solution from the people holding your things, you call me back." Right. My husband called him a few times after that (since our shipment had of course not been 'released') and George pretty much hung up on him. Wouldn't answer his questions. Kept repeating that the shipments had been released. The excuses we've gotten included "out sick for the day", "in court", and other things. A tip: try calling first thing on a Monday morning. I think that's when we got hold of him. Our story: we shipped our goods in March 04 from Seattle; they have yet to arrive in Cardiff, Wales. We're about to pay again to have them shipped by a better outfit. We've contacted all the people (FBI, BBB, FMC, etc.) and will keep our fingers crossed for a lawsuit against MS. Good luck to all out there in the same situation.

Hello Friends! I'm pleased to tell you that last night my goods were found in a cargo place in Chicago! The FBI and friends of mine tracked down the guys who moved my stuff, but subsequently had gone out of business. The place is called PLanet Cargo and the contact person is Sam...reason I am telling you this is that he has someone else's shipment there and no booking. So if any of you are looking for your things, they could be there. Try: WWW.PLANETCARGO.COM
I'm still going after the money I am out, but for today am doing cartwheels that my stuff has not been sold at a Mexican flea market. Best,

I am in Israel and the person that I work for (that Moving Services cheated out of money) is on the legal advisory team for the Knesset (Israeli Parliament). He has contacts in the Israeli Justice department and knows high powered lawyers in Israel. So moving to Israel won't take the heat off these folks. I have a lot of free time to dedicate to researching this issue and making sure this scam doesn't harm anyone else.

Has anyone actually spoken with George Evans? I have called his office ten times and I have not been able to speak with him.

If Moving Services has filed for bankruptcy there are proceedures that lawyers must follow to notify creditors and make lists of the folks that are owed money by Moving Services. I've contacted G. Evans office for more info, but I haven't heard from him. I am researching my options for filing a complaint with the FL Bar if he doesn't respond soon.

I talked with Bill Schureck about the criminal process last week and he said he had presented information to a US Attorney General for an hour but that the Attorney General was hesitating to prosecute because Sharon Fachler and co. have fled to Israel. We all need to write letters to the Attorney General urging him to extradict these crooks because they are still scamming and will keep on scamming until they are in prison. So please take time to do this.

Also, I'm looking into a class action suit for us. A friend of mine is a lawyer in California researching Florida lawyers for us but he says we have to make sure that there is an extradiction treaty with Israel for civil cases. This is another reason we need to put pressure on the Attorney General.

And we need to call George Evans, their lawyer, repeatedly over and over again and log calls and not give up. This will also put more pressure on the crooks to respond to our demands (though don't hold your breath) and be useful for us if we get to court.

You might like to know that Moving Services keeps answering my e-mails, which I cc: to [email protected] (I think that's why they respond)and that they are very very scared. The last one I had said they've done nothing wrong and they are victims of Bill Schureck and the freight forwarders they haven't paid (they claim these guys owe THEM money, if you can believe the gall) and that they have been forced to file for bankruptcy. I wrote back and said I knew they'd claimed false bankruptcy twice before and they were fooling no one but themselves. Their e-mails are panicky and badly-spelled. They are running scared.

I think they were hoping that we will all give up and go away like their former victims did and leave them to scam in peace. But don't let them rest.

I'll post again as soon as I hear back from my lawyer friend. Our best bet is the criminal avenue: Bill Schureck told me they'd arrested 75 similar scammers in the last month. So let's keep the pressure up.

Tina--I'm so sorry you haven't found your shipment yet. I'd suggest writing a threatening e-mail to [email protected] saying that depending on how they respond to your request for information the US Attorney General is going to decide what to do about prosecuting them. They are scared now so go for broke!

Best wishes to all my fellow-victims. I know it's hard to keep on this when we are all moving and trying to settle, but let's keep up the efforts and get these guys in prison, where they belong.

These guys took $6000 from me for the move from Sunnvayle, CA to Bangalore, INDIA. Of course, the shipment has not arrived and I've no clue where it is right now.

If anybody has any idea about which moving company they could have sub-contracted, please let me know.

The value of my goods is easily more that $10K but what hurts more is the loss of precious family photos and albums (pictures of my 2-year old son from birth till date).

I am trying to contact FBI on this.

Tina-keep trying to talk with George Evans the lawyer for Moving Services 305-447-8170. Document/log each on of your phone calls to his office (keep your phone bill). Ask for the first and last name of the person you speak with and their responsiblity with his law office. I feel like I've been getting the run-around from them too. But they are our only connection to these folks.

I had to have a "booking number" in order to drop my belongings off with Direct Container Line. That piece of paper was my only connection to my belongings...and the fact that I knew where I had dropped them off. Are you saying that the folks that actually picked up your things are out of business? FBI Bill may be able to give you more information on which shipping companies Moving Services used.

If you have the time, just keep calling G. Evans until someone gives you more information.

be sure to get a signed contract or order for service, a signed bill or lading, and a signed detailed report of all costs

#15Consumer Suggestion

Sun, November 07, 2004

When I spoke with FBI Bill, he seemed to think that the shippers were in the same boat we were...that they had taken orders for Moving Services and now had stuff froma lot of people and no money.

If you end up getting your shpping company to do buisiness with you directly, be sure to get a signed contract or order for service, a signed bill or lading, and a signed detailed report of all costs. There are other websites with info to help protect you.

I was able to get my shipper to move my belongings without having to pay them up front. Once they arrive, I'll pay. But I don't know if everyone will be willing to do that.

well i am not sure if i got my stuff back... From what i understand all of my things are still in a warehouse in new york somewhere. It hasnt moved since i left over a month ago. It seems the subcontractors of my shipment, who picked it up from my apartment in new york, have a lot of shipments from people who used moving services. However to get my stuff out of the warehouse it is going to incur more costs -- of course.

When the assets of Moving Services are dissolved then each creditor should receive a portion of the proceeds

#17Consumer Suggestion

Fri, November 05, 2004

I have contacted George Evans' office 4 times and haven't received a call back. He's always either "on the other line" or "in court". If Moving Services is declaring bankruptcy then Mr. Evans should compile a list of creditors. When the assets of Moving Services are dissolved then each creditor should receive a portion of the proceeds as a percentage of the total outstanding debt. However, I think that Moving Services has morphed into Movex International. I don't know if they're using the same computers and equipment as when they were Moving Services. There seems to be a loophole or lax enforcement of bankruptcy law here. If Movex International is owned by the same people and funds from Moving Services were used to finance this new venture, then the items purchased with money from Moving Services should be siezed and sold to cover debt from Moving Services. If funds from Moving Services were used to buy cars or other property, those too must be confiscated and sold. This is what would happen in a just and honest world. (So, don't hold your breath!)

I think that if you've gotten your belongings, that's the best you can expect. I would file a report with the FL Attorney General's office and the Attorney General in your current state. Law enforcement at the highest level needs to know about the inter-state scam. You can find those offices with a quick google search.

File a report with the FBI. Call your local TV, Newspaper and radio stations. See if their consumer reporters will follow up with this scam. If you are a senior, a member of a minority group, have a disability, a veteran, or a single mother, you might be a very appealing story to the media.

Write your leaders at every level and tell them about your experiences. Many Senate offices will open a file for you and help you follow up with Federal agencies.

The more info we get on the internet the better. Nothing is worse than seeing more and more people being caught in this scam.

Dieter-did you get your stuff back?

Moving Services contracted my move to DCL or Direct Container Line and I have had success working with them directly. It's my understanding that you can fire Moving Services at anytime and negotiate with the shipper directly (if they're willing). It's hard to fire someone though that doesn't have a real address and won't answer the phone or email.

FBI Bill seemed to think that the shipping compaines were being scammed too and that they didn't know anything about Moving Services. But I think that it's interesting that this scam gets played over and over all across the country and that the owners of the moving companies don't have some inside information on who is doing this.

I have contacted Mr. Evan's office 3 times. Once I left a phone voice mail message. The next time I left a detailed message with someone named Alex, and I just got off the phone with another person in his office. I have already negotiated with my shipper and my belongings were released for shipment. I want Moving Services to refund ALL of the money I've given them. They didn't do any work and didn't maintain their side of our contract.

I've posted a report on this web site warning people about Moving Services (movingservies.us) and Movex International (movexinternational.com). Let me just say once more that the web sites for these "companies" have the exact same wording (not word for wrd but whole paragraphs are the same) and spelling errors! I think this indicates a strong link and I would strongly recommend NOT using either of these websites or "companies". I am sure that these people will come up with another creative name and keep taking money from people until they are stopped.

I too have contacted Bill from the Miamai FBI. He suggested that I email info and accounts and see if this gets me anywhere.

So far no response (email sent on Monday).

My next step is to contact their attorney (George Evans).

My move was from Spain to Canada. All of it has been payed for and I've been waiting since April when it was picked up.
I know the company that was sub-contracted (WorldWideRelocations), but, they don't want to talk to me about it or offer any information.

It sounds like Taylor is responding to emails (at least recently according to Tina's comment). If there's an email address that can be used, I'd love to try it.

Count me in for any lawsuit.

#22Consumer Suggestion

Fri, October 22, 2004

On Wednesday Oct. 20, Bill Schureck of the Miami FBI called to tell me the owners of Moving Services have fled to Israel, the staff have all quit, and they have left no records to trace victims. This means it is crucial that each victim file a report with the Miami FBI. Bill's phone is 305-944-9101. E-mail your report to [email protected].

Moving Services takes money but does not ship things or if it does, it does not pay the people who ship the things. Do not give them any more money no matter what! They may try to contact you (they just sent me an e-mail asking for money--see my update on this web site).

I tried to send you my e-mail, but this web site doesn't allow us to post that information--it cut it out of the reply. So perhaps we can connect through Bill if they ever get ahold of these guys and do a class action lawsuit (and hopefully they will be extradicted from Isreal and imprisoned as well).

Courage! We won't give up!

FBI agent Bill Schureck is investigating this case. Call the Miami FBI and add your two cents. They need to know there are more victims. The problem at present is that no one can find these crooks. There is only a mail slot at their office (no suite) and their phones are not answering or taking messages. Their web site has gone down. They do not answer e-mail. So I don't think hiring a lawyer is going to work at this stage. We need to find them first.

I am also a victim. I have a report on this web site under the name Kaylee. They have taken everything I own and thousands of dollars from me too.

The FBI in Florida is investigating moving scam companies and has indicted a number of them, but hasn't yet indicted Moving Services. If we are to get them after Moving Services, all we victims need to file a complaint on their web site at http://miami.fbi.gov/movescam/htm or mail a complaint to

FBI
attn. Moving Company Case
16320 NW 2nd Ave.
N. Miami Beach
FL 33169
or fax it to 305-787-6102

This is crucial. This company has had two prior scam companies and they keep going back in business under new names. We have to get them in prison.
