Contractor and I signed a contract, he showed me his bond and pictures of previous work. he was very reassuring and gave me a flier stating his experience. On April 3,2008 he was to pour and stamp a patio for us, the day and the following were sunny. He notified us he changed to the 4th, we came home from work and he and his workers were struggling to put a tarp up as it had been raining consistently all day. The result is a disaster, complete rain damage, 75% of stamping ruined. The contractor Mr. CU said it wasn't his fault, he said he would remove patio and I would not have to pay him the remaining half of contract. I would have no patio and be out half the cost. If I contracted him to pour and stamp another patio it would require another contract. He really did a disastrous job, he was suppose to have a pump truck pump cement to back of home. Instead he had four non-English speaking workers wheel barrow it and in the process spilled plenty on grass and landscaping. When pouring forms they splashed on two set of French doors, which was a real pain to clean. Of course they left the mess. On a scale of one to ten the job in my estimation was a two at best. We really don't know what to do other than taking him to small claims. I'm considering making my own fliers and balk mailing to surrounding community.

Today May 20, 2009 I received a letter from an attorney assistant advising me to retract my complaint against Mr. Cu Landscaping. There are several inaccuracies in this letter. After filing in small claims and filing on Mr. Cu he decided to address the defective work. A man showed up at my home stating he was a cousin of Mr. Cu and that he had several years experience in concrete work. He showed me pictures and examined the patio and agreed it was bad workmanship. After some discussion he said he would redo patio for remaining balance owed to Mr Cu. The patio was redone and the job was what it should of been the first time. The letter I received today states that they represent Mr. Cu and that my report on this website has caused damage to Mr. Cu's business. The man himself put my wife and myself through considerable stress not to mention the damage to two French doors that cost $2200.00 a piece, cement on the house damaging siding which was replaced, cement spilled on new grass and landscaping redrock. The cousin who redid the patio stated Mr. Cu hadn't enough experience in concrete and stamping of concrete. I have the flyer sent to my home by Mr. Cu stating his many years of experience. I have pictures of the original patio and damage by Mr Cu. The man was not going to make the work right until I pusued the matter in small claims and this website. Before the work was redone we had two reputable concrete contractors look at it and give us advise on what to do. My final comments are that the patio is done to our satisfaction and the cost was what it should have been from the original quote. 4/5/2009 Our issues have been resolved with this contractor. We worked it out where another contractor came in and poured and stamped patio. I paid what amounted to final payment on what was contracted through Mr. CU. to contractor and Mr. CU absorbing rest.
