Mr. Rodriguez called my 77 yr. old father and told him about my credit card debt. He threatened suit & disclosed name of creditor and amount of the debt which happens to be significant.

He also attempted to negotiate a settlement agreement with my father for my bill! I am 44 years old, have worked at the same place for 20 years and lived in the same house for 14 years.

It is unethical and illegal for him to discuss private financial information with anyone but myself. I am not disputing the debt, only the amount and this company's collection practices. I will write to the attorney general next because of the threats.

How stupid! Of course I never gave this company permission to talk to my elderly father. I have not lived at his address/telephone number for 15 years. I am not in hiding or witness protection. Account is now assigned to Anchor Receivables Management. Let's see what laws they violate!

did uou ever give this company permission to talk to your father regarding your debt?

My son had credit card debt and when the firm he owed called our house, they would not give me any information regarding his account unless he gave his permission to do so. He gave his permission, and I helped him work out a solution with the credit card firm. Did you ever give your credit card company permission to disclose information to your father? As long as you are over 18, they must have your o.k. to do this, otherwise it is against the discloser privacy. You need to contact them and make sure they do not share your credit card debt with anyone ever again, unless you have authorized it. I would also contact your senators and congressmen/women and let them know what this company has done. Believe me, I have e-mailed senators in the past, and it has helped!
