It is apparently possible to be sued in Jefferson County, KY without being served! My husband is indeed having his wages garnished by this company, and was never served. He unfortunately let this go on for some time before letting me know about it, and is too passive to fight for his rights. The debt is way beyond the statute of limitations and after reviewing the court documents I've found that the summons clearly states, "Not served" and "House vacant" (because they were attempting to serve to an old address).
Now that he was never given the option to defend himself in court and the collection agency has been successful in getting a judgment and garnishing wages, I don't know how to approach this situation. The company has violated FDCPA and has wrongfully collected money from my husband.

You don't get notice in the mail that you've been sued. An officer arrives at your door, asks if you are ... and then hands you a paper which you let fall to the floor. ( some states this is a valid service). Go here: (((Redacted))) CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.
