My Twinn Dolls ruined my little girls Christmas and now refuses to respond!

I suspect they have ripped off hundreds, if not thousands, of others via their Mail Fraud Scam.

I received a catalog from My Twinn Dolls via the mail in November of this year. The catalog showed dolls that could be made to look like my little girl as well as matching clothes for both the doll and my daughter. I placed an order from the catalog for my daughter for Christmas. As instructed, I took pictures of my little girl and submitted with the order. They told me those pictures would be returned. This was to be the major and primary gift from Santa. They received my order and cashed my check. It cleared my bank on December 3rd. I tried to call them when the order did not arrive a couple of days before Christmas. I could not get anyone on the phonejust an automated message saying all orders had been shipped.

It did not arrive. I sent two emails to the company and got no response. It is now April 5, 2009 and I have not gotten the doll and clothes. I went to their website and see that they have went out of business. It seems funny that they would mail out thousands of beautiful color catalogs and then just go out of business. I believe they knew exactly what they were doing. I think they mailed out all of the catalogs knowing they were simply going to take all the orders they could and pocket the money and run.

I lost $207.05, but worse is not having this gift for my daughter for Christmas. I do not have a lot of moneyand I did not have the money to go out and buy a replacement. They did not just rip me offthey stole my little girls Christmas. What kind of monsters are these people. I want everyone to know about this obvious Mail Fraud. They took my money and the pictures of my little girlI got nothingno response to emails, phone callsnothing.

We are extremely sorry to hear about Olga's experience with My Twinn. To give a little back ground, the original My Twinn company based in Denver dissolved completely in late 2003/early 2004. The name was then purchased by The Parent Company (at the time known as eToys Direct, Inc) in 2005. Unfortunately, The Parent Company closed its doors and dissolved in February of 2009. They were still taking and delivering orders during their 2008 Holiday season but none of that information transferred to the new company. The My Twinn name was purchased again in March 2009 and it is with this company that we are currently associated. My Twinn is now based in Chatham, VA and none of the assets nor customer information came to the new company from any of the previous companies. Although we are unable to review the information that Olga has presented, we can assure all customers that checks nor money orders were (nor are they now) taken by My Twinn. When Olga placed her order through the mail she would have filled out a form that stated no Checks nor Money orders will be accepted. It could be that since she mailed a check, they either sent it back or shredded it if they were unable to get in contact with her. If there wasn't a self addressed return envelope then all the information supplied was shredded for her safety (a similar practice that we follow here). Since the company stopped taking orders in January 2009 and stopped taking phone calls February 1 of 2009 that could be why she was not able to contact anyone.
We would love to assist Olga in being able to get a My Twinn Doll for her daughter. Although we cannot reverse what happened we will do what we can to make her experience with the new My Twinn Company something that she can feel good about. We will respond within one business day to any questions/concerns Olga or anyone may have.
