We were contacted by Jackie the benefits manager from NAPE on 10-7-2005, stating that this was the last day of a special for a family plan of insurance "like Blue Cross/BlueShield for only $329.00 per month and a $125.00 membership fee for NAPE (National Association of Private Enterprise).

This plan was insurance and we would receive our"packet" in 14 business days. By Oct.27, 2005 the only thing re received was a member ID number which I received from Jackie phone # 954-423-5310 and she stated the"everythin g had been taken care of"!

They deducted $454.95 on 10-9-05 and another $454.95 on 11-9-05. I cancelled the policy and membership as soon as I received the information packet and found it was not what I had been told by Jackie that the policy plan would be. I spoke with a Tracy at SmartChoice Health consumer aid after the second deduction of $454.95 was deducted from our checking account, and she said" there was a glitch in the system and it would be fixed in 5 business days.

After several calls to Tracy, and to the general manager Stu Reuben with no results, I was called by an Angela. I faxed the necessary paperwork to her at SmartChoice on 11-17-05. Angela told me a check would be in the mail within m10 to 14 business days-nothing has been received by 1-3-2006. I did receive one check from Priority Health in the amount of $454.95, but have not reveiced the 2nd deduction and was last told SmartChoice was in a lawsuit with NAPE, but I cannot reach anyone at NAPE, SmartChoice Heath Care or Priority Health.

We have been taken advantage of as have many other hard working self-empolyed people trying to find a health care plan that is valid, and affordable that covers pre-exisiting health conditions. I am tired of being taken advantage of only to find these companmies turn off their phone or go out of business taking our hard earned money and lying about the plans they supposedly offer.

If anyone has any phone number ort wants to file a class action suit against these companies that take advantage of the self-employed, we are willing to give any information that would help that cause.
