In accordance with recent changes in the real estate mortgage industry, Cedar Run Appraisal Services, LLC accepted and completed an appraisal assignment in Gainesville VA. the actual lender was Surpoint Lending; however, the appraisal management company was National Appraisals and Consulting, Inc.
As ordered the appraisal was completed and bill submitted in December 2009 to National Appraisals and Consulting. The bill was never paid. Subsequent phone calls and emails to Surepoint Lending revealed Surepoint paid National Appraisals for this appraisal and referred me to National Appraisals and Consulting.
NAC has not responded to multiple demands for payment. In addition, now, the phones are not working, etc. A complaint has been filed with Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions.
Beware that because of HVCC appraisers are being paid less, and in some cases not being paid at all. I have been unable to determine who, under law, is actually responsible for the bill..........anyone know the answer??
This is no way to run an industry
