I received a call from National Credit Systems in January 2012.  The woman on the phone said that I owe money to them for a previous debt.  She began to yell at me and over talk me.   I asked for verfication in writing and she refused.  I hung up on her.  I received a computer generated letter from National Credit System approximately 2 weeks later basically telling me to make payment arrangements regarding a debt or else.

I sent a letter via certified mail on January 23rd with a return receipt requesting a validation of debt, not a verfication of my mailing address.  I also requested the letter of sale from the creditor to this company allowing them to collect the debt, their license and registered agent numbers, proof that the statue of limitations has not run out and proof that they are licensed to collect in Georgia as well as payment history and a break down of what is owed in detail.

I received a letter from this company on February 21st, telling me that they are having a hard time validating the debt, instead could I send THEM documentation?  A collection agency can not request a consumer to pay for providing documentation via copying, mailing etc...  This violates the Fair Debt Collection Act.

They have not provided the requested validation in the 30 day time limit and extensions are not permissible.  I just pulled my credit reports and will file suit if they so much put anything derogatory on any/all the reports.   I also contacted the FTC regarding this matter. This is a rip off and fraud.  Beware!!!
