National Fitness Deceptive practices in the conduct of trade Layton Utah
I signed up with Liberty Fitness in Westborough, MA on June 6, 2008 for one year. Liberty Fitness is affiliated with National Fitness who do their billing. On January 30, 2009, the gym in Westborough closed, and automatically transferred my membership to "Curves" in Westborough. I was not aware of the closure. They did NOT inform me neither by mail nor phone that they were going out of business. The new facility "Curves" (another company) is way too far for me. I asked them to cancel my membership due to them getting out of business, but they refused and of course they refused to reimburse me the monthly payments of February and March. This is contrary to the contract I have sign. Now I guess they'll take more monthly payments out of my bank account until June 6!!! Also, when I asked for a person to contact about the membership, National Fitness referred me to Rachel Garreau [email protected] (note: this is yet another company, a company of small appliances!!). It turns out that this email address is not valid!!! These people are very dishonest.
