Early 07/07 - Received polite phone call to try out 1 trial product free in the spirit of seeing if mycompany would switch to them as our printer cartdridge vendor. Of course, I am looking for a good deal and a reliable source to help keep overhead down and grow the business. I agree to the complimentary item.
7/18/07 - Invoice Arrives. Called a rep at the NIS and was told to disregard the invoice and the key workds were said, "NOT TO PAY" and "THIS IS COMPLIMENTERY". I even wrote this down on my invoice when speaking with her on the phone! Thank goodness I even saved the paperwork!
7/23/07 - Product arrives. Printer Cartdrige looks good. Packed well. No immediate use for it.
7/30/08 - FAX arrives stating that I need to pay for the Printer Cartdrige.
8/05/08 - Finally able to speak with Gene Harris (
[email protected]) to find out what this is about. He informs me that I was misinformed by the last person I spoke with. This cartridge is not complimentary and I need to pay the 229.99.
I offered to send the product back, but was told it was too late. I asked what alternatives do I have and was told that he had to speak to his manager. He comes back on the phone says I will have to pay 189.99 and would follow up with another FAX with the revised pricing.
He even offered to give me a discount of 25% off of the cartridge refill if I send back the cartridge! What a sales guy?!
Lesson Learned: Stay away. Trust only big retail giants. Don't trust any voice or verbal phone agreement. You either pay the price or you pay THE price. In fact, just hang up. I mean, I used to think it was impolite to hang up, but this guy/company has taught me better.
