Melissa,
Didn't pay my bill is one thing vs couldn't pay my bill. Have you ever heard of calamities, you know, emergencies, etc...? If not, you will eventually, and when you do, you'll request help too!
Yes, it was big of us to offer what we had, for this was a sure way to let the creditor know we were sincere about paying them. FYI: the creditor did accept 1/2 pymts. at one time.
Can you imagine a person wanting to keep the home they have worked years for? Doesn't seem too riduculous at all, does it?
Be careful of responding when you don't have all the facts (and I couldn't possibly mention them all online.)

"We have a strong sense that something is not quite right" Yes, it would appear so, like, maybe, you didnt pay your bill? For 3 months?
....."although we were three (3) months behind, we offered to send in what we had at the time" Gee, that was big of you.
Can you imagine such a thing, a company actually wanting their payment? I've never heard of such a ridiculous concept
