They partner with all banks to cold call and trick account holders into "signing up" for their bullcrap accident insurance.
They'll twist almost anything you say to their "reps" over the phone as tacit approval to open the account. The partner banks give them your account info. And as long as they honor a cancellation request and you get your drafted funds back, the BBB doesn't give a dang.
Overdrafts caused by those drafts however, you're left to fight with the bank over.
Why this is not considered illegal is beyond me. Simply tell the rep "goodbye" and slam the phone down and they'll sign you up and later play back the recording of you saying "good" to back them up.
The only thing you can safely do when they call is to hang up without a word.
Don't take it lying down. Make the cancellation official, keep records and fight the bank on any fees. And watch for the rest of the year that NUFIC doesn't pick your pocket again.
