Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I orginally had my home mortgage through Centex Home Equity.  They were a very pleasent and easy to deal with company for years.  And then they were bought out by Nationstar.  Everything was OK for about the first 5 years.  Then in 2010 when I tried to make my usual monthly online mortgage payment I was refused access to my account.  Upoon calling their customer service I was informed by them that "because I showed a Bankruptcy on my credit report that I could no longer make online payments or receive any monthly statements on my account."  I was told that it "was their policy".

After arguing in vain with them for several months I ended up checking my credit reports from all three agencies and found that there indeed was a bankruptcy showing and it was showiing that I had filed a chapter 7 on Nationstar.  Say what?!?  Never filed a bankruptcy in my life plus it was only saying that it was filed on them alone.  I ended up filing disputes with Equifax, Esperion and TransUnion.  Their investigations concluded that there was indeed never any real bankruptcy filed by me and the one on my credit report was placed there by Nationstar.

Well, luckily for me I had enough money in my savings account to write them a cashiers check for over $25,000 and pay the mortgage off completely.  When I spoke to their very rude customer service rep regarding the issue they weren;t happy at all that I was going to pay them off.  But I did and got my release of lien and have clear title on my home now.

It's a darned shame that I had to sack my savings in order to get away from their headaches.  But upon checking online in foirums such as this one I found that there were more than a few other individuals stating that they also had "ghost bankruptcies" on their credit reports and were in similar situations as myself.  Some even reported that Nationstar was using the bogus bankruptcies as grounds for foreclosure on some.

Why this company feels that it has to go to such lengths in order to rip off their customers is beyond me.  I just kinow that I will never ever reccomend them to anyone for any reason after my own experience.  And I cannot help but feel kfor those that are not as fortunate as myself who are simply stuck with them.

My advice to anyone that currently has a mortgage with them to refinance, pay it off, do anything you can to get out fromunder them before they come after you as well.

Good luck to those filing class action suits against them.  They are a disgrace to the mortgage industry.
