I bid on a 2000 Cadillac Catera and lost the auction. The next day, Wayne from Nationwide called me and said that the winner could not come up with the money and we will offer this to you. I asked my usual questions

Is the A/C cold

Are there any fluids leaking

Do all the electronics work

Wayne said that the air was ice cold and the engine was so clean underneath that you could eat on it. I then said fine and I will buy the car. He kept saying hit the button on Ebay several times because if you don't someone else will get the car. So I hit the button and I had to pay for the car on the spot with a credit card. The auction states 1 week to pay.

I hired a shipper to ship my car to Pittsburgh. The shipper showed up on memorial day and no one there would get the car out to ship. The driver called me and stated they were very rude and they were indeed working that day. I did not receive the car until the following week.

The shipper dropped off the car at about midnight on June 2nd. He took the car off of the truck and let it run while we settled up. My house was only 1 mile and I took the car home. As soon as I pulled into the driveway, I smelled oil burning and lots of smoke coming from underneath. The next morning as I was taking it into the shop for the fluid leaking, neither the drivers window nor the rear passenger window was working.

The mechanics concluded that oil was leaking out of almost every gasket the car had. The front seal and the rear main seal, oil sending unit and valve covers were just the beginning. They said it cannot be fixed without replacing the motor. I then called a Cadillac dealer for a second opinion and the diagnosis was the same. In fact, they told me to get rid of the car. It should not have been sold this way without knowledge of the problem.

I had told the garage to go ahead with the window regulators before I realized what was going on.

I called Nationwide to talk to Wayne. The person who answered the phone was very rude and told me that Wayne is no longer here. With additional prodding, she told me that Wayne was in jail and arredted because these same things that he did to me. I told them I would dispute the transaction and please come for your car and they told me I can't do that and I would be arrested if I try. Well, I think I'll take that chance. These people should be out of business because they are rip off artists . Total costs were $ 3,250 for the car, $ 450 fro shipping and $ 400 for authorized repairs before I stopped them. Also the car had no rear shocks and no rear brakes.
