Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On 8-22-2016, I answered an ad to buy a 2014 Nissan Versa Note.  The car was advertised for $9,994.  I am going to be 70, am sight impaired, and trusted the company official to fill out the paperwork.  He was charming, engaging and explained to me why I MUST buy a warranty for $2,098 in order to get my loan approved at a local credit union.  I had not heard of that before.  The car was only 2 years old, and had under 16,000 miles.  I asked about the remaining factory warranty, but he told me it does would not apply to a second owner.  I assumed he was telling the truth, I signed the paperwork.

When I got home, my wife, who was thrilled with the car, and still is, asked me why I paid over $14,000.  I told her I didn't.  We got out a magnifying glass so I could read the contract.  Indeed, the price was $10,994 not the agreed to price. I called the dealer and, after some time not hearing back, I went back with the paperwork in hand.  Once I was able to see the same person who wrote the contract, he said he made a mistake and re-wrote it.  I thought that was the end of the story...

In trying to learn about the operations of the car, we found there was no manual and only one key was provided.  I was told they bought the car at "auction", and there was but one key.

Next, my wife went on the Nissan website and downloaded the manual, which included factory warranty infomation.  At that point, we found the car was, indeed, covered for 3 more years or 60,000 miles.

I immediately call the credit union.  They were apologetic and gave me the name of the person to contact at the corporate offices of Nationwide Automotive Group.  Upon calling, I asked what happened to the man I dealt with.  The person i spoke to, ANGELA RITZ (513-858-1111) said, "Brain was not doing the right thing and was left go"... she agreed I should never been sold the warranty and said it would be cancelled and the money refunded to the bank.  I paid $5,000 down on a $9,994 car, yet still owed the credit union over $8,000.

The initail call to Angela was 2 months ago... one promise after another was broken, one excuse after another was told, and, in the end, no money was sent on my behald to the credit union.

I told Angela I was left with no other option but to file a samll claims action, which is in the process now... that cost $50. And I told her I was going to find ways to warn the public as to how Nationwide Automotice Group treats old people.  If they will do it to an old man, maybe you should be careful... of course, that is only my opinion.
