I called on 4/26/03 to schedule an appointment for a pickup. I asked the relocation consultant, Erica, if the company picked up my stuff on 4/29/03, would my stuff arrive in California by the 15th of May. She swore me up and down it would. By the time the 29th comes along, I was given a time between 11:00am and 1:00pm. The two drivers didn't show up unitl 5:30pm. I missed a whole day of work thinking they would come around the time they said they would. When the drivers get there, in a Ryder truck, they tell me in order to use their mattress covers and sofa covers, the cost would be an outlandish 20.00 piece and the tv box would be 38.00. I had to drive to a Uhaul location to pick up the essentials needed to move. They didn't state the price of these items when Erica quoted me a price of $1768.00. Of course, any little thing added on was an additional $4.00 per cubic feet.

My stuff was finally on the truck and 2 weeks later I haven't heard anything from the company. I tried to call to get a status and their dispatch manager,Jay, told me he did not have to give me that information. He starts yelling and screaming at me, not letting me talk at all. He puts his manager on the phone, Beyonca, who tells me that since I didn't have the 15th's date in writing, I can't expect my stuff to be there by the 15th. What would having it in writng do anyway if you weren't going to deliver my stuff.

It is now the 3rd week and I am still looking for my stuff. I finally get a number for the driver who apparently has just set out for Arizona. He tells me he will be at my location in California on Saturday, 4/17/03. He also tells me tht if I don't pay in cash, I couldn't get my stuff. The contract plainly reads that money orders are accepatable payments. I call back inot the main office where Jay, the dispatcher says it owuld be nice if I could pay in cash. I tell him the money order is already completed and he says again it would be nice if you could pay in cash. He tells me his driver ran out of money and he needs cash. I tell him that is your driver's problem and I am paying with the money order. Jay then says ok that's fine. Saturday rolls around and there is no driver in site. I call the new contractor, Spirit Van Lines, to find out where my stuff is. He tells me he cannot contact the dirver, who was his cousin, and that he was concerned. He said he could care less about my stuff because he needs to find his cousin. I asked him for the information regarding the truck and he told me he wasn't given me anything. He then hung up the phone on me. I called him back and told him I need to know where my stuff is or I am calling the police. He tells me he doesn't know where the information about the truck is, but he would call me when he heard something. Sunday rolls around and still no word on the driver. I call the driver and he finnally picks up the phone. he tells me he was just leaving Nevada and would be at my location around 8pm. 8pm rolls around and once again no driver in site. I got a call around 10:30pm asking if I still wanted delivery tonight or in the morning. I obviously chose the morning.

It's now Monday, the 19th of May, and they have finally arrived. The driver tells my father, who was there to receive the stuff for me, that it is going to be an extra $100.00 dollars because the distance was more than 75feet from the truck to my apartment. My father said he wasn't paying it. They walked my stuff up to 75feet and dropped it there, making my father carry all the stuff in himself. I called the office back and asked for a manager. They put Beyonca on the phone, who passed me back to Jay. Now Jay already told me his driver was right and that I could pay the money or let the stuff sit there. When I kept calling back, they kept putting Jay on the phone. Finally Jay, who claims he was doing something nice for me, told me he would have his driver bring the stuff in for me for free. That never happened. My father had to bring the stuff in himself.

If you have taking the time to read this, don't ever use this company. The dispatch people are rude and the managers won't talk to you. Nobody knows where your stuff is and nobody is responsible for anything. It's not even Nationwide Van Lines who moves you. They contract it out to so many people, you don't know who has your stuff.
