I need some advice! I am trying to buy a home and I saw NCO FIN/22 and NCO FIN/99 on my credit report! It was marked Coll/Chargeoff..but I don't even know this company.

I plan to write the FTC is there anything else I can do. I really need to get this off of my credit report. I am thinking of disputing it or at least stating somehow this is not my account!!!

This is just ridiculous!

"Confused", First of all, you are dealing with NCO Financial which is part of NCO Group which was recently sold to Michael J Barrist with the new name being One Equity Partners. The /22 and /99 are just account designators for them to use internally to identify which batch of JUNK DEBT it refers to. These are JUNK DEBT BUYERS who buy very old usually uncollectable accounts for far less than a penny on the dollar. Most of these debts cannot be validated upon request and many times they really don't even know who the actual debtor is. You need to stay off the phone, and do everything in writing and by certified mail, return reciept requested. Also be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records. This is very important as it proves exactly what you sent. By the means above, simply send a dispute to each affected credit bureau. Simply state it is not your account and you want it removed immediately. Also exercice your rights under the FCRA and demand copies/records of all correspondence used in the dispute verification process. Now, send a dispute letter to NCO financial where you clearly dispute the debts. Do not sign this letter, print only. In this letter, clearly demand to see the signed contract that created the alleged debt, as well as a full account history and itemization of all charges. And demand proof that they are legally entitled to collect on the debt, and if they claim to own it demand to see the purchase contract, proof of payment, and complete chain of title. If they fail to respond and/or correct the situation to your satisfaction you sue them, as you have just built your entire case. Slam dunk. Don't get mad, get paid.
