First of all NCO FINANCIAL are JUNK DEBT BUYERS. Sprint is no longer involved here. Therefore, when you made your payment to NCO, it WAS NOT being made on behalf of Sprint. Also, paying an old collection account WILL NOT "remove" the entry from your credit report. It will stay on your report for the full 7 years allowed, and will actually hurt your ollection account alone. This is because you have shown recent activity on the delinquent account which is scored more harshly as a recent delinquency. If you pay off a collection account, it will simply show as a paid collection, which is still negative for scoring purposes. NEVER pay an old collection account. NEVER speak to any third party debt collector or junk debt buyer on the phone.

it can sometime take up to almost 60 days for a paid off account to be correctly reflected on your credit reports. I would wait about 30 more days and then request a credit report from one of the CRAs and see what is shown. IF they fail to report it as paid up, they are violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
