I got involved with NCRC 2 years ago to consolidate all credit cards - prior to 2001 I had excelent credit always paid on time- I now have a negative credit rating due to NCRC paying late often - I was lead to believe that in 5 years I would be paid up but Now I also feel just the balance will be paid! Help!!!! Wish I had found this site prior to getting involved with them. I'm also suspicious of how I will get my deposit or set-up fee back.

I want to say that I have been with NCRC since August of 2002. Yes, I have had "some" problems with them and have even gone so far as to demand a full audit of my accounts and the money sent. Which I got in a timely manner. My accounts are paid on time each month and I have one account paid off and another one nearing the pay off mark! It is up to us to monitor our credit cards bills taht come in the mail. I have sent letters to NCRC and have had good results in feedback and help. All of my creditors except one lowered my interest rate and this particular credit wants their money no matter what. I do agree that when this shows up on your credit report it is damaging, however, that is not up to NCRC. Reporting that you are with a consumer credit group (no matter who it is) is up to the creditor. And no, bankruptcy would have been far worse than making on time payments thru ANY credit counseling agency. I am not sure how you still wind up owing $5,000. The only way I can see you still owe is that you continue to use the credit cards or you have acquired more debt on other cards. They can only work with what you give them. Like I said, I have had my problems, but overall, a happy customer!
