Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Long story short, young 18years old, bought a car a total lemon required 400.00 in brake work, couldn't make the payments lost job, had to move across state line for job and family problems. Dealer a total fraud, since out of business. Auto Finance on 49th and L. Dealer put on docs. that I had traded off an S10 pickup that I never owned. brought to my attention by the DMV, had to pay extra to license, no big deal.

Fast forward to august 2003 notice of suit filed, although SOL was near out. Dealing with these morons since then. wrote letters to them requesting copy of contract. No response. I only pay because they threaten to take money that goes to feed and house my kids. Do they give a flying s**t? nope. Complete jerks. Asked for garnishment of bank account in July 2003, for different amount than is written in what appears to be an order from the local District court, although not signed by a judge. Seems to be a total ripoff.

Nothing but threats, no response to questions. It took 10 times for them to quit addressing me by my maiden name even though I have been married for the last 8 years. Took the better part of two years to get a transaction history. Forgot to mention that no credit was given for what the car sold for at auction, which was 1100.00 which would lower the debt considerably. I am sick of these people thinking that they can get away with this atrocious conduct.

To Carl - you're saying that it is ok for a dealer to committ fraud to induce the loan

OK, so you're saying that it is ok for a dealer to committ fraud to induce the loan, and its ok to not have a copy of the contract, even though it was promised by telephone, and its ok to sue past the statute of limitations, and its ok to leave a family of four with nothing to live on or feed kids with? I don't think any of that is ok. I will be 30 this upcoming sunday, this transaction occured at 18. Do the math 12 years ago.

This is not a ripoff.

No disrespect intended, but you borrowed the money to buy a car and didn't pay it back. They sued you. You either ignored the lawsuit and had a default judgment entered against you or you fought the lawsuit and lost. Either way, you owe the money. The only person ripped off is whoever lent you the money in the first place.

Really Hilarious and Absurd

These people had the nerve to tell the court that I worked for a local bank in Denison. Ha ha, very funny as I have not, nor have ever been any kind of bank employee, much less never applied for employment there. They actually told the court that the Bank's telephone number is my work number. How funny is that? I am, and have been for the better part of the last 8 years a stay at home mom. Sure I had a checking account with that bank, but does that make me an employee? I think not. Pure fraud. NOthing is signed by a judge. The attorney for the plaintiff by the name of Credit Acceptance Corporation out of Southfield, MI signed all paperwork. All I really want from these people is credit towards the debt for what the car sold for at auction and a copy of the contract. Is that so darn much to ask for? I don't think so. Apparently, these people think it is really hard and tiresome to use a copy machine. I was promised a copy of the contract waaaaay back in August of 2003. If any of the people that this refers to are reading this report. I am Still waiting on that contract. I will not give up until a copy of that contract is in my hands.

Update Suit filed in Feb

Suit filed in Feb. 2003 even though SOL was out, still refuse to send me copy of contract to verify that SOL was indeed out before suit filed, to follow up with disputes to credit bureaus. July is the first contact made for arrangements. God, how I hate writing checks to these people! The only reason I do is under duress because their favorite tactic is to threaten to take every dime we have in our joint bank account. They know perfectly well that I am in college, in order to get a really great job after graduation. So the only money we live on is my spouse's wages, and infrequent disbursements of excess funds from Staffords, Pell grants and annual income tax refunds. They don't want just a set percentage set by law, they want the whole goddamn enchilada, leaving us with no funds to live on. These people need to wake up and realize that someday they may be in such a position where they may have to juggle bills every week and figure out ways to just get by. I have yet to read one good reason for their refusal to send me a copy of contract. Something must be rotten in this applecart for people to act so hateful. All I want from these people is credit for the auto that was sold and the amount credited against the debt.
